First, the planetout.com link to her said nothing about her being a lesbian. So she's had some lesbian roles? Sure, I'd bet everything I have she's a huge lib, but that doesn't make her a lesbian.
Everything I've found on Tilda Swinton says that she's married to some guy named John Byrne and they have two kids.
Please show me something that explicity states she's a lesbian.

The name of the movie was "Six Days, Seven Nights." Apparently, it was Harrison's ill-fated attempt at an old Humphrey Bogart-kind of flick complete with screwball comedy. The lesbian actress was Anne Heche. Defintely did not do wonders for his career.

I think a kids' Passion would be well served by the Jesus epics already made, such as "The Greatest Story Ever Told" "King of Kings" and "Jesus of Nazereth." Not that I wouldn't oppose another version, but there are plenty of choices out there already.

But if the Inuyasha movie gets released to theaters, I don't care about principles, I'm not seeing that.

Ouch. I take it you're not an Inuyasha fan, huh?

The two movies have been released to DVD, not in theaters, so I doubt we'll get a "Kaze no Kizu!" coming to a theater near us.

I agree. The most recent movie of comparison was what came to mind first.

Thank goodness. No, I think Inuyasha is the worst popular show to come over from Japan in the last five years. Although Naruto may end up being more obnoxious, judging from its proven track record of turning normal human beings into slavering morons.

Now, the Fullmetal Alchemist movie.... we won't be that lucky, so I'm just hoping it doesn't get licensed until I can get a fansub of it. And I'm looking forward to downloading the 9th Detective Conan film whenever someone gets that translated (it's not released yet, though).

They have also hired a public relations company to market the film directly to Christian groups to ensure that the powerful evangelical movement, which is particularly strong in America, is happy with the content.

I don't understand. How does sending a PR guy to pitch the film to a Christian group ensure that evangelicals will be happy with the content? The implication is that Christians can be sold on the idea that the film is faithul to the books, whether or not that happens to be true.

***Please show me something that explicity states she's a lesbian***

Well I guess one can take part in pornographic lesbian scenes (Female Perversions) and not be a "lesbian".

I googled and was catching lots of phrases like, "Her lesbian affair" etc. Maybe I spoke too soon. Sorry.

I think it was 7days/7nights, the woman was the one who was dating ellen digeneratse.

She had signed on to do the film before she came out.

It is the excuse they gave for the movie dying in the box office. Nobody, supposedly, blieved a lesbian in a romantic lead with a man.

IF it is true that the woman playing the evil ice queen is a lesbian, the question will become whether audiences will believe her in a role as an evil person. I am certain the homo advocates will have a very nuanced propaganda spin on this.

If anything they may SCREAM her personal sex life into the public eye in order to do everything to keep the story from succeeding.

so she is NOT a lesbian. May I trouble you for the link so this rumor can be nipped in the bud.

If this really is a "passion" film for children, then it would be valid for such a rumor to be spread in order to try and hurt a worthwhile project.

It might be a case of "go forth and sin no more"?

The ethereal CS Lewis? By Disney? I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

I'll say one thing for 'em.......in the wake of The Passion of The Christ blockbuster, they sure catch on fast as to who now controls the culture.

I'm still not going to anything put out by Disney, until I know who's replacing Christian-hating Eisner.....and his replacement better be somebody acceptable to Christians.

I've watched 50+ episodes of Naruto and I honestly don't know what you're talking about. Please explain.

"Disney executives have organised private meetings with several church groups in America..."

All of them associated with the National Council of Churches?

They have disavowed the sacrifice of Christ years ago.

Can't imagine what Mike Eisener and the boys are going to come up with on this one.

Besides, if Disney wants to make a Kids' Passion, they should start by looking at Mel Gibson's work and making it G-rated.

Yeah, this is the first I've heard of the film being marketed as a "kid's passion" but I've been following the production of the films for a time. Initially I was excited to hear about them being produced in New Zealand in the wake of LOTR. Then, I found out it was Disney and I'm not too hopeful about the outcome of the films now. I guess I'm just sorta in a "wait and see" mode.

However, I think this summer would be a good time to start reading Lewis' books to my Abby. :-)

I am trying to find another FR thread on this that was posted a while back. Apparently the people involved were supprised somehow not your typical hollyweird types. (ie conservative leaning types)

Thank you for the link
