real mature... sometimes makes you wonder what has happened to the quality of the posts on this forum...Oh for Heaven's sake (or perhaps in your case, Oh Canada!) You people in the Great White North need to get a grip... Like Bob and Doug McKenzie had a license on mature humor!

Being zotted can be fun. Is the zotter a female? Is she wearing heels and a bikini?
Is there marmalade involved?

Oh Jon Stewart is a troll and quit being funny years ago.
I haven't watched him in a couple of years.

I do lurk at DU... I find them to be juvenile mean little twits... I just wouldn't emulate them, I'd stand far away from anything that resembles them. But that's just me :~D...and, if my post resembled anything like a typical DU posting, it would be full of the "f" word, make absolutely no sense, and I'd be kicked out of here before you could say JimRobinson!

Is the zotter a female? Is she wearing heels and a bikini? Hmm...just thought I would mention that there will be a Zot Party at the TigerTale home in Kansas City, beginning at 10:00 this evening...

Surely there's better jokes you can be more proud of than making fun of some receptionist. It got pulled... It'd be a dead issue if you would let it.

Nope, happens all the time; they simply send you a 1st class letter; whether you get it or not makes no difference.

"The same thing happened to the sound engineer for Don Imus - Lou - he was arrested and cuffed for a suspended license. He said he didn't know it had been suspended. So it's apparently not unknown in NYC."Not everyone reads the fine print, and I dare say it is a nation wide occurence, not only limited to NYC.
Tell you what ... what we need to do is get a company started to make up a bank of original excuses.
That way folks can hit a special number on their cell phone and punch in the code for the violation and give one to the officer that he hasn't heard before.
Most officers would be so amazed they will probaby let them go. ;)

A few years back I mailed in my renewal for my drivers licenses near the deadline. I failed to check a box on the renewal form. I never got a response back of any kind. Three months passed I was driving with out of date licenses but I expected it was government they just take a long time. I get pulled over for out of date tags that I also turned in on time but have not received them (the tags came the next day.) My truck was impounded, walked 5 miles home and had to see a judge about it.
I learned from the judge that I am responsible for my drivers license not the DMV.
The next time I renewed my drivers license got an appointment the day I received my renewal notice at the DMV to see them rather then mailing it in. I was especially careful to cross every t on the form, but the guy typed in my social security number wrong, it was an obvious typo (which there is NO recept to indicate that he made a mistake.)
The DMV sent me this nasty latter telling my how I maybe prosecuted for ID fraud. They told me I must go to the Social Security department and get some forms in order to receive my correct social security number or else I will be in violation of law.
Once I received the proper forms from the social securitys office I had to go back to the DMV wait in the looong lines without an appointment because appointments takes over a month to get by then I would be late.
This time it took the same amount of time as when my truck was impounded except this time I started the process early.

Nah ... Not a chance! They just had nothing else to do so they thought they would tie themselves up in a couple of hours of paperwork. And we certainly wouldn't want the traffic section to enforce the laws. I wonder, inasmuch as these beasts only stop the innocent, fun loving people, maybe they should be disbanded. That way we can all dash through the red lights unimpeded. ;)I think you've captured the essence of the situation :)

"I think you've captured the essence of the situation :)"Hey ... Thanks and I appreciate you taking time to read it.
I'm not surprised to read all the "don't they have something better to do" posts. Hell, even even my mother is critical of the police, and her only son is a retired one. ;)

How in the world do you get a suspended license and don't know about it? I'm really curious. Thanks.

Thank you Dead!
Alright, I'm sorry for calling you morons, but if you had even the slightest bit of familiarity with the posts I litter this place with, you'd have realized exactly what I was saying.
I was stunned that anyone would take that seriously, especially with the caveat that I'd just pulled up the first result from a google image search.

C'mon, we're FReepers, we're sharper than that.True, you should have been.
Look, I love making fun of people who deserve it, like Helen Thomas or Kerry. But pulling an anonymous picture off the internet and ridiculing it is just wrong. Period.
How would you feel if someon happened to pick a picture of somone in your family, post it on a forum, and start to make crude remarks?
Just no class at all.
