Schiavo in 48 hour window

By: Bill McGinty

Video Story

Supporters like the Rev. Patrick Mahoney of the
Christian Defense Coalition say they expect people to
try to enter the Woodside Hospice to “rescue” Terri
Schiavo if her feeding tube is removed. The Pinellas
Park Police has officers stationed in the parking lot
and inside the front doors of the hospice in case those
threats are attempted.

The Florida Legislature is now working on a bill that
Governor Bush says he will sign into law that would
prevent the removal of Terri Schiavo’s feeding tube.
The bill should be on the floor for debate by mid-
Friday.

Terri Schiavo has been in what doctors call a
persistent vegetative state since she collapsed from a
heart attack in 1990. Terri’s Schiavo’s husband Michael
Schiavo told a local newspaper that Terri would not
want to live this way and that the government should
stay out of family business.

Considering that I have rad that her tubes are to be pulled at 1pm Friday, isn't mid Friday a little late for getting it to the floor for debate?

Wait until they figure out how Scott Peterson's conviction made their position indefensible. Watching them backpedal furiously should be damn good fun.

I thought they were voting on whether to suspend the rules so the bill could be voted on tomorrow.

I can't speak for George Greer, but I think that given Michael Schiavo's cohabitation with another woman and his fathering of two illegitimate children* on her, we don't actually have to KNOW what he's thinking to know that he's up to no good.

*NOTICE: I am refraining in this post from calling the illegitimate children "bastards," which despite many objections is still the correct term.

That's what I'm saying, yo. I'm willing to come from Texas, and I'm just a woman.

her tubes are to be pulled at 1pm Friday

To be clear, She is not hooked up to tubes 24/7.

She has a "port" to her stomach through which nutrition is delivered. She has her meals via tube. Then the tube is removed after the meal is served.

Remember, now, before you get all judgemental, poor Michael needs to move on and get closure before he can kill another wife - um, I mean, marry his concubine.

So lay off the poor guy. Until you kill your wife, you have no idea what he's going through.

What you said, and I bet He will, although He won't get nearly as much satisfaction from it as we would.

If you can make it, please go. And bring your chicken plucking old man with you. I wish I could be there, but I can't. I'll be there is spirit.

Like I said, it's an understandable mistake. She's so smooth and polished and elegant and professional, she just DAZZLES me and I get all flustered when she's on.

If all legal means fail then civil disobedience is the only moral option. If I weren't 3,130 miles away I'd be there. Let's pray for some legal gray area like Gov. Bush calling out the National Guard to rescue her. The local police officers will run like scared Easter bunnies when they see the troops roll in. If Terri is murdered then all of us will know some innocent disadvantaged person subject to a similar state-endorsed execution within 30 years.

You can go directly here to email your Senators and/or Representatives about Terri Schiavo:

It is possible that is what they did---like I said, I am not really familiar with the way the house works---

I hope if they do have a vote, that it passes---I know that the GOP has a majority, but one of the speakers on the GOP side, a woman, got up and said she couldn't vote for the bill---felt it was interfering with a family problem or somesuch--

I do not understand people that can discuss someone's death with so little concern and so little empathy and compassion for Terri AND her parents..

Mrs don-o has spoken to a woman with a disabled child (a Jew who converted to Christian off making sense of her child's handicap) who is on her way.

I think everyone who can go to Florida, should. We have an old man here in our home who needs all we can provide, or we would be on the road tonight.

I never want to see another arrest for murder ever again if they kill Terri.

Florida will have lost all moral authority to prosecute and arrest murderers.

Well, I saw on another thread that Bo Grites and his wife have taken out a "citizens arrest warrant" for Micheal Shiavo and Judge Greer---

It isn't like people aren't thinging for anything that might help her...

This subject may have been mentioned and I missed it but--
Does any one know if Terri is able to swallow her own saliva or does she require frequent oral suctioning?
IF she is able to swallow her saliva then she CAN swallow.

May God forgive them, for they know not what they do.

Correction: Mr. Schiavo knows EXACTLY what he's doing.
