Yes - it's the contention of some (and I tend to agree) that Mr. S put her in this condidtion, based upon recent x-rays. And that maybe Mr. S doens't want to risk her getting well enought to point the finger at him.

LOL!

What with the zotting, the personal attacks and the premature dancing on Terri's grave, I won't be here.

This is not an intellectual game, surely it is appropriate for people to make their opinions known but I have noticed some people are here simply to get attention. Reminds me alot of my adolescent children.

There is a rule at funerals. You don't start dividing the spoils until after the funeral and post funeral luncheon. You wait a decent period of time.

If freepers regard this as a funeral about to happen, perhaps the tone here would be more respectful to one another. We should keep our eyes on the current battle and wait to fight the war another day.

If the kitty cats can help, we might need the little darlings.

The legal ramifications must be extreme for the courts to still be siding with him...the husband.

To read all the outrageous things he has done since 1990..why he is worse than Ted Bundy, Richard Speck and Dahlmer combined. Yet the court still sides with him...despite the President's personal intervention and a rush vote by Congress.

Nurses have, according to their own depositions, surreptitiously fed her ice chips and jello, which Terri swallowed without assistance. It's not an "official" swallow test, but it does indicate that she might not need the stomach tube to eat.

My brother-in-law is on a feeding tube right now. Although he can eat soft foods like jello, pudding, yogurt and the like, he cannot eat sufficient amounts of food to sustain himself. He's also unable to swallow thin liquids-water and the like--although after months of therapy, he can take small amounts of water from a spoon. Although he is fully aware and has weakness on only one side, this is the aftereffects from the calcified blood clot in his brainstem and a stroke over Labor Day. whether Terri could get to this place is not a sure thing.

"This all started from Roe vs Wade, now where will it lead.......

I wrote in my blog the other day about this.

I think where we are headed next is eugenics - the next scientific frontier - the breeding of a master race - designer genes and designer babies - where you can pick and choose what type of child you want.

Of course in the process we will need to kill off those who we fight disabled, sick, weak or inferiour. Its for their own good you know.. cant let them suffer and we also need to consider the baby-boomers who will be retiring soon. cant have a drain on social services."

You forgot about the children whose ears stick out too far..Am I dreaming or did I read that Hitler actually did put to death such children?

The money "won" in the malpractice has been used 1. for her care because that's expensive and 2. for legal action, presumably, to help put her to rest. That money is gone. How, again, is Michael coming out ahead in your latest conspiracy theory?

Wrong!

The money for the legal action was for the legal representation on that case, not future cases. Why would he be awarded over a million dollars to care for her (and rehabilitate) for the rest of natural life, and at the same time be awarded money to end her life before it would have ended naturally

You do realize that the testimony shows that the "husband" HIS brother and HIS sister, are the witnesses to Terri's statement. They just happened to have neglected to mention that for seven YEARS. The "husband" was already well involved in another relationship by then and had been denying Terri real treatment for 5 years.

BTW with the new law Greer has made, if anyone dies without a written Will, anyone can come along and claim what the deceased wishes were and have their estate changed.

Welcome to the New World. Thanks.

And that maybe Mr. S doens't want to risk her getting well enought to point the finger at him.

If he's afraid of that, he doesn't know much about vegetative states.

There's as much chance of that as there are of her growing wings.

whether Terri could get to this place is not a sure thing

What is there to lose by seeing if it's possible?

However, this is a medical matter, and I am resentful of the attempt to turn this into a Constitutional crisis.

We only have hearsay evidence from a potentially questionable source:

Oh, and Mr. "I'd lie to save her"/"I'd try to save her even if she didn't want that" Schindler is credible?!?

The fact is, Mr. Schiavo is her spouse. Unless someone has addressed his credibility (and he was found credible), then he is who we go to.

Plus, it wasn't just Mr. Schiavo who made that claim.

Life trumps "State's rights." The State actually has no rights independent of the individual, inalienable rights of the people.

The people of Florida, by the actions of their Legislature and Governor, have expressed a desire to save this woman's life. The Judicial Branch has over ruled the other 2 branches. It's not as if the Constitution supports a system where the big, important questions can only be determined by the courts, leaving unimportant ones to the Legislative and Executive branches.

There is nothing I can add to this post...it is written!

Two words - States' rights.

Four words: You are an idiot.

Citizens of the United States have constitutional rights and these rights are protected by the federal courts [should be]. Among these rights are life and liberty. Those rights are being violated in this case. So stuff your state's rights nonsense.

Anything's a possibility, but unless the 11th circuit grants the Schindlers a stay, it's moot.
