>>"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other."<

You don't know how many times I've thought of that quote recently.

It may well be twilight in America.

Hell, if she was a murderer, Bush could PARDON her.

Something is amiss here. The libs who are saying legiislators can't be involved, when they involve them all of the time for their per causes, is nauseating.

It is just as self-evident...but far too many are living under strong delusion.

LOL! Boy, was that prophetic or what? (And I live in Florida)

How ironic.

UN-declares "World Water Day" - - except for Terri...

But the fallout from doing what you suggest might well cost those who wish to succeed Bush, and other candidates, the next election, just as the pardon controversy contributed to Algore's defeat.

i.e., Don't heal on the sabbath.

It has been, for quite some time. It's just becoming more and more obvious......

That judge was despicable to stall this process for 24 HOURS! He had his mind made up - it was a sham.

Yes, his decision was painfully clear when he scheduled the hearing for 3:00PM yesterday.

I think the poster means that if the judge had any intention of a genuine and impartial de novo review, he would have ordered the feeding tube restored for the duration of the review so that Terri's death would not make the final ruling moot.

but technically when they testified about Terri's "Wishes" it is not hearsay as her alleged words have independent legal significance and as such are an exception to the hearsay rule

What's the legal rationale behind that, is it because of the number of people who testified to hearing her say it? Also, did she say it in situations that would be deemed not just saying something without fully thinking it through?

Last questions here, how do you see this precedent of euthanizing her evolving, and will this precedent set in stone that people like her are now no longer beings but property?

Those who blame Bush (or "the Bushes") are ignorant of the law, unaware of current events, or both.

Many FReepers will get to dance on her grave now.

Bless your heart, FReeper pal. Don't give up hope just yet, dear. Terri is NOT DEAD YET. Anyway, Heavenly Father will have the last Word. Don't you worry your pretty little head. Watch what God will do. Love you!!!

P.S. They can't dance on her grave if she dies because Michael Schiavo is planning to have her Catholic body cremated (which is a no no in the Catholic Church) before an autopsy can be done (which is a way of destroying more evidence) and then having her ashes shipped off to Pennsylvania (so he can crap on her loving family one last time).

It seems that people who so vigilantly work to separate church and government, have placed their faith in these men in black robes who sit in judgment on us.

Control by Government IS their religion. We must argue this fact every time the ACLU etc seek to erase a cross or tablets somewhere. The deathocrats and their supporters are establishing a government religion before our very eyes.

If she dies I will boycott Florida. This is civil war. I will never set foot on Florida soil again. They will never get one cent of my money in that death state again.

ALSO on Greta's show last night, one of the friends said that they BOTH had talked about the Karen Ann Quinlan case, and Terri told her friend she would NOT want to have tubes, etc, removed. Terri supported Karen's right to life, and Terri would IF she is a devout Catholic as her friends all say she is.

This is horrible. I just keep praying that somehow this precious soul can be saved from cold blooded murder. As a Mom, I don't know how Terri's Mom is able to handle all this, bless her heart.

FYI. The Catholic Church has become much more tolerant of cremation in recent years. They frown upon it, but it is no longer considered a sin.

Foxnews just said that the Presidant is monitoring the situation with Terri Schiavo and we will likely hear from the Presidant over this shortly. Pray that means that someone is going to put a stop to Terri's death!

Look, these are the facts.

Terri collapsed Feb 1990. The malpractice suit (not sure when it began) was settled on appeal in Nov 92. Michael got 600k for loss of consortium and Terri got 1.4 million for future medical care and rehabilitation.

(Throughout the malpractice suit, during which he swore undying love and commitment to care for her the rest of his life and expressing his heartfelt desire to take her home if only he had the money with which to do so, he was having a long-term affair - almost a year at that point - with another woman and planning to move in with her.)

Only 3 months later, in Feb of 93, Michael stopped all therapy and placed a DNR on Terri's chart. The dispute with her parents began. 6 months later he denied her treatment for a potentially life-threatening infection. He did this again in Sep 95. During this time Michael denied Terri's parents access to any information about her condition. They got a court order in response.

At some point he began to see his current fiance, Jodi Centzone. They formally announced their engagement in July 97, shortly after Michael first sought permission to remove Terri's feeding tube.

In June 98, a guardian ad litem was appointed by the court to review Terri's case. He recommended against the removal of the tube, and as a result, Greer filed bias charges - against the guardian ad litem that he himself appointed - and removed him from the case.

At some point in 97-98, Michael retained the services of one George Felos, known euthanasia attorney and Suncoast Hospice Board Member. Shortly after that, he suddenly remembered that it was Terri's wish to die.

(And subsequently spent over half a million dollars on legal costs to that end, with the blessing of Judge Greer, who ruled to allow Michael to spend the medical fund money on lawyers fees.)

In Apr 2000, Terri was moved to the Suncoast Hospice, the same hospice for which Felos served on the board (no conflict of interest there of course), despite the fact that she was not terminally ill. Felos soon resigned from his board member position after public exposure.

So, bottom line - Michael began to try to kill Terri 3 years after her collapse and 3 MONTHS after her settlement award. He first petitioned the court for feeding tube removal 7 years after her collapse, and "remembered her wishes" 8 years after her collapse, following his legal retainer of a well-known euthanasia advocate.
