Also, did she say it in situations that would be deemed not just saying something without fully thinking it through?

I can imagine saying to someone about Terry, that I don't ever want to go through what she is going through. It doesn't mean I want to be starved, it would mean I want to be kept alive.

It's been 90+ hours since the tube was removed.

I didn't know it was so common as I've learned in recent days. It's a fascinating "underbelly" to medicine.

If she dies I will boycott Florida. This is civil war. I will never set foot on Florida soil again. They will never get one cent of my money in that death state again.

I said the same, the other day. And I'll never buy anything from a Florida company online again, either.

I heard that too, and one of the friends said that Terri was very upset when life support was removed from Karen Ann Quinlan and that Terri said that where there is life, there is hope.

Well .. that hearsay isn't important to the case .. only Michael's hearsay is .. because he is such a loving saint of a husband ... /huge sarcasm >

As much as I love our President I fear he will only state this is why his nominees must be confirmed. I pray I'm wrong.

Indeed. Even I believe the judge has played the clock in this case.

I don't believe a moral person should consider the consequences, the next election, world opinion or his/her own legacy before doing the right thing.

As Nike says: "Just do it!"

Yeah, your probably right! He is going to say how sorry he is and that we must get Conservatives for Judges. He will say he has done all he can do at the moment. Maybe he has, I don't know. I'm just so dissapointed!

Seems a rather heavy topic for a 10 year old.

But don't get me wrong, I thing starving Terri is hideous.

Sort of like how when the Nazis first sterilized the people with mental problems, then euthanized them, it was all done legally by having doctors certify the person was in such and such condition and the lawyers there to make sure it happened.

You know this happened in the U.S.? Many folks in Massachusetts and other states were sterilized against their will, and they were not criminals.

his family requested that his gastrostomy feedings be terminated

Is Terri's "family" requesting that her gastrostomy feedings be terminated?

The dispute with Terri's parents began in February, 1993 over money, specifically the $300,000 loss of consortium award that was given to Michael. The Schindlers and Michael have not spoken directly to each other since then.

newsflash the other nations of the world have a presumption of pulling the plug. Essentially a duty to die in order not to be a burden to their socialized medicine systems.

Now the question becomes whether insurance companies can mandate pulling the plug on people as an ecconomic requirment. If you become helpless and unable to defend yourself can blue cross require you to starve to death? If you are an inconvenience to your husband or wife the answer is yes.

The savages (i.e. her "husband", the black-robed-monsters, and brave new world folks) that will be celebrating if Terri dies won't be laughing for long since she will then become a martyr which will result in new laws protecting the lives of people who are in her condition.

"That judge was despicable to stall this process for 24 HOURS!"

He didn't have the courage to release his decision during the day or evening, while the protesters were standing outside the hospice.

He used the cover of night.

According to the Deathocrats:

Terri should die because Michael says it was her wishes,
though there is no legal document that says so.

Michael should make death decisions for Terri because of
their "sanctity of marriage"... "a legal document says so."

Michael lives with another woman for 10 years,
fathers two children,
but his marriage to Terri is STILL a sanctity,
because he has a document that says so.

Words Michael atrributes to Terri condemn her to death.
But his adulterous bastardizing does not break
the "sanctity" of THEIR "marriage."

It is just me, or

IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG
WITH THIS PICTURE?????

Not personally but there was discussion on Fox News last night of the notion that Florida schools under the ADA allow kids with PVS to attend school despite their lack of interaction. If this is true, might she have an equal protections claim.

And with regard to the whole cerebral cortex thing - I think it would be good if she actually had an MRI. If she's as bad off as he says, you'd think Michael Schiavo would have nothing to lose.
