I saw the nurse, Carla Sauer, on CNN a few minutes ago. Bill Hemmer tried to trip her up, but she was unflappable. She was very convincing. I am even more angrier now than I was before at Michael Schiavo. What a POS!

The polls are inaccurate, because most people don't know the facts of the case. Most people refer to people are really ARE brain dead, as shown by an EEG (which Terri never had) and only machines keep them breathing and their heart beating, and they already are at end stages of incurable diseases. There is a big difference between letting go of a person like that, vs. murdering Terri, who has not had therapy, didn't even have all the proper tests, and she is NOT on "life support", which IS defined as breathing machines, etc. Terri probably could even swallow and eat on her own, with therapy. And her parents want to take care of her and assume responsibiilty.

"While 14 independent doctors — including six neurologists — adamantly refute the diagnosis of PVS"

You do realize, of course, that none of them actually physically examined her or even reviewed her medical records.

"For the courts to rule on behalf of Michael Schiavo based solely on the legal point that he is the next of kin"

What???? Did you read the testimony in that hearing? Medical evidence was reviewed, doctor's sworn testimony was given, five (5) people testified as to Terri's wishes, all witnesses were cross examined, and an independent, disinterested third party finally ruled that "there was clear and convincing evidence that Terri Schiavo would not have wanted a feeding tube."

I stopped reading at this point. Frank Salvato is full of it.

Praying for those that commit evil is. And it draws us closer to the Lord. That was the purpose of my comment.

I understand, and I truly was not being argumentative. I think that everything that you have written is admirable. I would only add that "Praying for those that commit evil" should not be our only response to evil. The many laws in the Old Testament that deal with sin make it clear that God expects us to deal with evil through laws. When the current set of laws are insufficient to deal with evil, I believe he expects us to amend those laws to deal with evil (while at the same time praying for those who commit evil).

I'm not criticizing what you have written, just trying to supplement it.

What do you think of the possibility of the President ordering the federal marshal service to protect her as a lawfully-subpoenaed witness based on the Congressional summons?

"by refusing to allow into the case evidence from the Schindlers"

For example?

On the topic of EOs... he can only issue them as directives to parts of the executive branch of government, but conceivably he could issue one to the marshals.

That's great stuff, nic. Boy does the media need to report this. What do you think the chances are?

>>Good point, but I thought those Internet polls locked one out after he voted<<<

Internet polls are garbage.
I guess some people here have forgotten the after debate polls during the election.

Are you familiar with what multiple experts on brain functions having been saying about Ms. Schiavo. There are many, many experts who have been saying that Ms. Schiavo is not brain dead or in a persistent vegitative state. So if you have competing experts on Ms. Schiavo's mental state, do you think the burden of proof, as it has clearly been placed here, should be on those who want Ms. Schiavo to remain alive? For that matter, do you think the factual presentation with respect to killing someone should be cutoff at the trial. It isn't in death penalty cases? In fact, the presumption is exactly the opposite. The courts bend over backwards where a criminal is being put to death to determine if there is any evidence that has been left out that might show that a death penalty defendant is innocent. Why should the process be different for someone who is being put to death by the courts and who is not a criminal?

Well, that is good news, but how long will it take for it to be heard or a decision to take place

No hurry, she survived six days before. Let's go for seven! Do I hear eight? Nine? /sarcasm

I like Bush, but he doesn't have the balls. Nobody seems to have the balls to stand up the judiciary.

I hold this out as a very real possibility. Just do it, and let the courts settle the resulting Constitutional crisis. Meanwhile, Terry lives.

"We have better...we have her making a quick comment during a movie. So be careful what you say while watching a movie...it is now leaglly binding according to the state of Florida. "

Thank you for reminding me to stay out of the state of Florida. Dear Hubby reminded me last night that when I was young and couldn't imagine ever growing old, I once quipped that I didn't want to have to live past 30. (Actually, it's a comment I've heard several "young whippersnappers" make!) Woops, time's been up now for a few decades--if I step into the state of Florida, they might just "make it so."

The devaluation of human life has been the point of initiation in the decline of every major civilization in the history of man.

Yes. And this case is the basis for eliminating handicapped people who are alive by "artificial means" (i.e., food and water).

Even though the poll everyone's talking about may or may not be completely believable, because people do not have all the facts of this case, it is still disheartening and, I believe, reflective of the culture we have created due to our allowing abortion and removing God from all our institutions.

We are indeed in for a rough ride.

I did hear they are hearing the appeal today. that is good, but they don't have time to make a decision, they will need to hurry up and make a decision quickly. God I hope it goes in Terri's favor. if not I fear this is over for Terri, unless Jeb, DCFS, DOJ puts a stop to this right now!
