After Defeats Schiavo Parents Tell Supporters Go Home
AP - Yahoo ^ | March 26, 2005 | Jane Sutton

Bob and Mary Schindler, both practicing Catholics, urged dozens of supporters gathered outside the Florida hospice where Schiavo is being cared for to go home for Easter.

"The family would request that everyone go home, be with your children, hold them close and share every moment you have with them," said Brother Paul O'Donnell, a Franciscan monk who is a spiritual adviser to the Schindlers.

It was not clear if the Schindlers had finally abandoned all legal avenues in their fight to restart their 41-year-old daughter's feeding, a cause that embroiled the Florida legislature, the U.S. Congress and President Bush.

Evil is beautiful to demons

That's an important point. I think I knew that at one time but had forgotten it until you reminded me.

local bishop - hmmm. Must have made a deal w/hospice - all pals and buddies.

I firmly believe that if the Pope was in much better health - he would have made a trip to see Terri.

No one could be a medical examiner in Pinellas County and live to tell about anything unless he were in the pocket of George W. Greer et al.

Did Terri understand that over all these years MRS has been trying to murder her?

He also obliquely thanked public opinion and pollsters for driving down Bush's numbers because of this. I don't have the exact quote, but he was also crowing about polls. I can't believe that acros the board, GWB's JA went -25 (Rasmussen) to -5/6% (Most other polls). It's sick that tjis incident is hurting the party trying to save her life so much.""""

That's Bush's own fault. He won't talk about the case, the specifics. HE acts like a scared rabit. If he went on national TV and detailed what's going on, Terri's condition, what's been done to her, what a monster Michael is, Bush would have public opinion on his side, But he's not a man with that kind of moral vision. He can stand up to Saddam -- but that's easy, Saddam is a central-casting villain who everybody hates -- but Bush (or his bro) can't stand up to George Greer or Michael Schiavo.

Actually, (blush) I forgot to use an apostrophe for "nation's" in the second sentence.

Mere mortals may not have jurisdiction over Greer and the Schiavo's, all of them, but GOD DOES, and they should be VERY afraid and start rpenting.

Yes.

Even as they await the terrible death of their daughter, they think of others.

Sometimes I think Randall Terry and George Felos ought to have a who-has-the-bigger-ego contest.

Sad.How can we ask God to bless America, or sing " My Country Tis of Thee" any more. The Glory of the Lord has departed ,people. Darkness is over us now. God have mercy on us.

I understand how you feel.... but as I was pondering my own anger and hurt with this situation, something occurred to me. Terri Shiavo hasn't had this happen to her without being noticed by the whole world.

I believe we each have been put here for a purpose. None of us will die without leaving a mark upon another's life, heart or community. What a witness Terri's been..... to open the eyes of apathy we've somehow sunken into as a nation!

As she goes to God... her presence has awakened something in the rest of us! Her death will not have been in vain.

Why would that not surprise me?

It's one last "I own this piece of property, and you can't do anything about it." stab at them.

He couldn't afford for her to swallow it.

I'm not making a joke... I'm serious.

. It's sick that tjis incident is hurting the party trying to save her life so much.

Honestly, I think the drop in JA is more about the price of gas.

While my car was being serviced today, a lady in the waiting room said to me, "Clinton -- no, the president, President Bush raised the price of gas." I told her that Bush didn't raise the price of gas. She said, "Yeah, well, he could stop it. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer."

People are upset about the cost of gas and want to blame somebody, so Bush is a convenient target.

You summed it up beautifully. Thanks.

We "may" have lost this Battle but tomorrow we celebrate the person who won The War over 2000 years ago.

Rejoice - it's Resurrection Day.
