Man Pierces Glasses Permanently On Face
Sooy: LASIK Surgery, Contacts Too Expensive
POSTED: 5:36 am EST March 22, 2005
UPDATED: 10:35 am EST March 22, 2005
A man in Texas who said LASIK surgery was too expensive to correct his eye sight had the bridge of his glasses permanently pierced into his nose, according to a Local 6 News report.
James Sooy was tired of wrestling with his eyeglasses and instead of contacts decided to have a post pierced into his face for permanent lenses. IMAGES: Glasses Pierced On Face VIDEO: Permanent Glasses IMAGES: More strange images featured on Local6.com
"These, you know they are stuck to my face, with the other ones, if they were pulled, they would just come off real simple," Sooy said. "They're easier to work with and there is no safety risks involved."
Obscurities owner and professional piercer Allen Faulkner said the piercing was like any other. Sooy said the piercing fit his lifestyle. Most medical experts warn that many piercing procedures could cause permanent damage. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

I was looking at a site about 2 weeks ago about different piercings.
He'll be lucky if his body doesn't reject it and push it up and out of his skin.
There were some horrific pictures of rejections.
You do not want to do a Google picture search. LOL
Some of the men didn't have to worry that any PA ect. they may have had done would ruin them, I swear that my thumb is bigger than some!
I didn't know if I should be laughing or grossed out...ended up laughing.
I have several natural skin bridges (that's what I call them), that I can put earrings ect through and have no pain, unless they get pulled out that is.
I've had them since I was a kid, the one on my right thigh is the one I remember putting earrings in all the time.
Other than using an earring to clean them out every so often, I leave them alone and don't wear anything in them.
I would never get a real piercing.

Interesting. I am now awaiting the wave of young teenagers who are going to "crazy glue" a telephone to their head because their tired of having to pick it up.

Well I guess it beats hooking up a JATO unit to your old car out in the desert. (An old Darwin award winner)
Sorry, but that old JATO story is an urban legend. See

I dont think he asked your opinion. Nor did I ask for yours, for that matter. But you gave it anyway, as did I.
To each his own?... Absolutely. That still doesn't mean that he isn't a moron.

Why stop with eye glasses?
Think car keys, television remote, youngest child (in multi-child families).

And who says all Texans are "right wing conservatives"?
I have a feeling that the expression "here, hold mah beer and pierce this" was heard shortly before the event.

Ever notice that it's mostly the Goobers of this world that try to call excess attention to themselves? And that it just makes them look more Goobery?

In other news, Heff N. OBrane, of Flyspeck WI has replaced his right index finger with the key to his car.
Mr. N. OBrane explained, he has a habit of locking his keys in his car and estimates he has paid locksmiths more than two thousand dollars over the last five or six years to unlock his vehicle.
N. OBrane pointed out the time lost while waiting for a locksmith was more aggravating than the cost.
N. OBrane also pointed out keyed in on the advantage he now has over other nose pickers; I dont stretch my nostrils out as much as others, which will make me more attractive to the ladies of my social circles.
