Left Still Going After Soldiers for War Crimes in Journalists Deaths Facts, Opinion, Heads Up

Don't Let U.S. Soldiers get Railroaded 3/27/05 By Defendingliberty

Sgt Shawn Gibson, Alpha Company, 4th Battalion, 64th Armored Regiment. Who is he? He is the soldier that fired the tank round that hit the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad 4/8/03 killing two journalists . Amy Goodman’s Democracynow http://www.democracynow.org/ is pimping the theory that this was a war crime with an “Un-embed the Media Tour” 1 featuring Phil Donahue and others.

The usual anti-war suspects are calling this “Murder “ and a “War Crime”. The brother of Spanish journalists (Jose Couso) killed in the attack will be taking his case to the European Parliament in mid April and will seek indictments for Sgt Gibson and three of his superiors. There is no doubt that he fired on what appeared to be a legitimate target, a forward observer of a mortar team. I suggest reading the book “Thunder Run” by David Zucchino to learn the truth about the incident and the battle to take Baghdad.

Once again, common sense has left the building and the kook leftists are running wild. I will not place Democrats in this group. It's your garden-variety leftists that are continuing to try to undermine our efforts for a free and stable Iraq. They are the standard Anarchists and Socialists. The quote goes,” As ye sow the wind so shall ye reap the whirlwind.” During the last election cycle the Democrat party allowed groups like International ANSWER, United For Peace & Justice and Moveon.org carry their water on the street in the theme of the Anti-Bush campaign. Now the party has a whirlwind to contend with and it’s leaders are heading for the storm cellar.

Moveon.org has started to move to the left (from the far left). “Two years after the invasion of Iraq, …Moveon.org…. -- which built most of its member base with a strong antiwar message -- is not pushing for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.” 2 That tells me that some of the Democrat leaders see the whirlwind and are trying to get a handle on it. But new groups of disenfranchised New-aged Democrats will not be denied their power. The Progressive Democrats of America has formed and will have a say in the future of the party http://www.pdamerica.org .

The Kook Left and New –Age Democrats will continue to call the incident on 3/8/03 a War Crime. Will the Democrats in Congress come to the support of Sgt Shawn Gibson and his fellow soldiers or take the position of keeping silent and out of site? We need to keep an eye on this developing story.

I just finished reading "Thunder Run" which describes the battle in which the Palestine Hotel incident played a just a small part.

There definitely was a enemy Forward Observer in the Plasetine Hotel. He was bring directing mortar and artillery fire at the tanks on the bridge. After they fired that round, they heard his radio calls that he had to move as he was under fire.

Reuters can kiss my ass. One man's journalist is another man's insurgent. (To mock Reuter's "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.")

The problem is that their guy was in a WAR ZONE and that was the cause of his death. Notice Reuters has no position on the bad guys using the "Jounranlists Hotel" in a firefight.

It's extremely saddening, yes, but none of this should come as any surprise to those of us who make a point to look over the shoulders of the lamestream media.

Reuters, the AP, ABCNNBCBS, the LAT/NYT/comPOST, and all the others have a very clear agenda. To propose otherwise is to turn a blind eye to their flagrant bias and anti-Americanism, anti-Israeli, and anti-Iraqi reporting.

Is there a petition site set up on behalf of Sgt. Gibson?

When there is an automobile accident, morons like Goodman are quick to always blame the SUV.
When there is a shooting, morons like Goodman are quick to always blame the gun.
Why now does she want to blame the soldiers riding in this tank? Everyone knows that the tank, not the soldiers, killed these jokers.

Sgt Gibson probably mistook the journalists for enemy personnel—an easy mistake to make. (I often do.)

Can anyone answer the seemingly obvious question missing from the cited stories? What possible motivation would the U.S. military have for firing on journalists? There is simply no reason to believe it was intentional, and thus "murder" or a "war crime", even if there was no evidence of the forward observer in the hotel.

There is a difference. Long time Democrats like those in the Florida Panhandle that voted Bush in 04 are the Democrats I am referring too. I see no benefit lumping them in with the socialists. I will grant the point that most Democrats are left but not Leftists...

There is no petition and no action on our part may be needed. I just wanted to give a heads up to possible problems....
