Posted on 03/28/2005 3:45:28 PM PST by Faith

John 21: 15-18
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,
”Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?”
’Yes, Lord,” he said, “You know that I love You.”
Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you truly love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, You know that I love You.”
Jesus said, “”Take care of my sheep.”
The third time He said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,
“Do you love me?” He said,
”Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”

Holy Father,

Thank You that Your way is perfect and Your Word is tried. Thank You for being a buckler to all those who trust in You. Thank You that in Your everlasting covenant with us, You have promised not to turn away from us, but to do us good; and to put Your fear in our hearts, that we may not depart from You. Thank You, Father, that You work all things together for good to those who love You, to those who are the called according to Your purpose.

Father, we think about the Risen Savior and the three times He asked Peter if he loved Him. We understand Peter’s frustration, and yet we must ask ourselves the same question: "Do we love You?" We know that You are aware of everything that is in our hearts, so we can say as Peter did, "Lord, You know that I love You." But do we show our love for You in our actions, Father? Do we stand for what You stand for---Love, Righteousness, LIFE, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness and Self-Control? How do we treat the innocent? How do we treat the defenseless? How do we show our love for You? O Lord, we pray that we could live as New Creations----filled with the love that You gave those born of the spirit. Hear our prayers, Father, that we may live our lives in a way that is useful to You and Your Kingdom.

Father, we ask that our President and Mrs. Bush would show their love for You each and every day as You fill their hearts with new love and appreciation for You and for each other. Guide them in every battle. If the devil has brought blindness to them in any area, please expose it to the light so that they may have new revelations of Your Will. Grant them the peace that passes all understanding and give them the desire to be led by the Spirit’s power. Help them to be still and know that You are God. We praise You for the strength You continue to provide our President as he tackles the challenges that have been placed at his feet.

Defend America and our men and women who are fighting for us, Lord. Shield them from the deception and stealth of the enemy. Defend us from those who seek to destroy innocent lives in the name of purging the world of those who do not believe or live as they do. Father, rise up and let Your enemies be scattered! We pray for Your child, Terri Schiavo, that even in this dark hour, Your right hand would uphold her. O Mighty God, if there is anyone who is willing to stand in the gap for her and bring water and food to this innocent child, we pray that You would still in these final hours reverse the sentence that has been so unfairly placed upon her.

Fill our hearts with the desire to pray, Lord. How great is our need for Your hand upon this nation! How great is our need for Your touch in our personal lives. Let our tears of confession and repentance be used to grow seeds of revival in America. Visit us in a mighty way. In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

Lord, Father in Heaven, God of Truth and Justice and Mercy,

You have said, "blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness."

Lord, bless President and Mrs. Bush, along with Jeb Bush, with a hunger and thirst for righteousness, and let them use that hunger and thirst to satisfy the hunger and thirst of an innocent woman who is starving to death tonight.

For your glory, and in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank You for another day in this nation and in Your Kingdom. I thank You for the grace which You have shown me and those around me. I thank You for loving family and caring friends. And, I thank You for being with me each steap of my way.

I lift up our nation to You Lord, and pray for forgiveness for our selfishness, our deceit, our murders, our blasphemes, our sexual immorality, our backbiting, and every vile and ugly thing that we have committed before Your site. We do not deserve Your love. We deserve judgment. But, I know You do love us and therefore ask for You to forgive us, and to move in our nation in order that we would turn from our wickedness back to Your, our Lord and God.

Father, I lift up President Bush. Give him wisdom and the courage to do the right thing with the wisdom he has.

And, I pray for Terri Schiavo. Lord, comfort her. Make this horrible period a peaceful time for her. Help her family through this ordeal- and be a help and comfort to them afterwards.

I pray for the salvation of those who do not know You. It seems every time I turn on the TV or radio, there is another soul who has done something horrific. My first inclination, I confess, is that they should be severely punished - but they are souls as well. They need You too. And, if they had You they probably wouldn't have done what they have done. Lord, send revival to our Lord and make this nation a blessing to You once again.

For it is in the blessed name of Christ Jesus my Lord that I pray these things,
Amen

Thank you for that prayer Faith showing how much Jesus loved Peter even though he knew Peter would deny him he still entrusted Peter with the task of "feeding his sheep". How we like Peter fail at times and each time Christ is faithful to us he never moves away from us we do the moving.

This evening we pray for the President who is your faithful servant how much more temptation must he encounter daily much more than we can ever imagine. Laws he has to sign people and countries he has to deal with which to fulfill he duty unto Caesar must to him feel contra to following his Savior. We can only imagine how he has to balance this and we praise and thank you for his strength and example in doing so.

Lord Jesus we bring your good and faithful servant George W Bush before you and ask you to bless and keep him strong in his faith and testimony to you. We thank you that you have raised him up for these days and thank you for the great example he and his Vice President give of committed family life be with them and their families God Bless them both and God Bless America.

We ask these things through and in your dear son our saviour the Lord Jesus Christ name Amen

Our Lord and our God, forgive us our debts to others. Most assuredly our national sins are hideous in your sight. We cry out for justice that seems to have fled from our land. We are desperate for you, Lord. Our people perish for lack of knowledge, which is readily available in your precepts and commandments.

We know that lies lead to death. We know that truth leads to life. We also know that your Word is truth, and it leads to life. Draw our leaders and our nation back to your Word. Open our eyes and ears that we might see and hear.

In your mercy, hear our prayers.

Amen.

Praying mightily for Terri Schiavo and her family...may HE hold a special place for her by HIS side.
I cannot believe that this is playing out as it is.

God Bless Our Troops, Our President, and Our Country.

To: Faith; All

AMEN FAITH!

Heavenly Father

Thou hast revealed to me myself

as a mass of sin,

and thyself as the fullness of goodness,

with strength enough to succour me,

wisdom enough to guide me,

mercy enough to quicken me,

love enough to satisfy me.

Thou hast shown me that because thou art mine

I can live by thy life,

be strong in thy strength,

be guided by thy wisdom;

and so I can pitch my thoughts and heart in thee.

This is the exchange of wonderful love –

for me to have thee for myself,

and for thee to have me, and to give me thyself.

There is in thee all fullness of the good I need,

and the fullness of all grace to draw me to thyself,

who, else, could never have come.

But having come, I must cleave to thee,

be knit to thee,

always seek thee.

There is none all good as thou art:

With thee I can live without other things,

for thou art God all-sufficient,

and the glory, peace, rest, joy of the world

is a creaturely, perishing thing

in comparison with thee.

Help me to know that he who hopes for nothing

but thee,

and for all things only for thee, hopes truly,

and that I must place all my happiness in holiness,

if I hope to be filled with all grace.

Convince me that I can have no peace at death,

nor hope that I should go to Christ,

unless I intend to do his will

and have his fullness while I live.

A PURITANS PRAYER!

"I called him, but he gave me no answer."
- Song of Solomon 5:6

Prayer sometimes tarrieth, like a petitioner at the gate, until the King
cometh forth to fill her bosom with the blessings which she seeketh. The
Lord, when he hath given great faith, has been known to try it by long
delayings. He has suffered his servants' voices to echo in their ears as
from a brazen sky. They have knocked at the golden gate, but it has
remained immovable, as though it were rusted upon its hinges. Like
Jeremiah, they have cried, "Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that
our prayer should not pass through." Thus have true saints continued long
in patient waiting without reply, not because their prayers were not
vehement, nor because they were unaccepted, but because it so pleased him
who is a Sovereign, and who gives according to his own pleasure. If it
pleases him to bid our patience exercise itself, shall he not do as he
wills with his own! Beggars must not be choosers either as to time, place,
or form. But we must be careful not to take delays in prayer for denials:
God's long-dated bills will be punctually honoured; we must not suffer
Satan to shake our confidence in the God of truth by pointing to our
unanswered prayers. Unanswered petitions are not unheard. God keeps a file
for our prayers-they are not blown away by the wind, they are treasured in
the King's archives. This is a registry in the court of heaven wherein
every prayer is recorded. Tried believer, thy Lord hath a tear-bottle in
which the costly drops of sacred grief are put away, and a book in which
thy holy groanings are numbered.
By-and-by, thy suit shall prevail.
Canst thou not be content to wait a little? Will not thy Lord's time be
better than thy time? By-and-by he will comfortably appear, to thy soul's
joy, and make thee put away the sackcloth and ashes of long waiting, and
put on the scarlet and fine linen of full fruition.

Amen to every word.

Lord, we lean on, trust in and rely on Your goodness because in spite of what we see, we know that You are good. We know that Your ways are righteous all together. We know that You never leave nor foresake Your children. If Terri is to be a martyr that You can effect a change in our country, we yield to Your ways of doing and being right. You know our hearts desires and cries, Oh Lord. We are pained by the unrighteousness and want You to show Yourself strong, but nevertheless, not our will but Yours be done. Be a comforter and counselor and help us to make permanent changes so that we never will find ourselves and our nation in this position again.

We bless You for our President. He is the great gift for which we have asked You for many years and we say, "Thank You, Lord. You are wonderful."
