I am not a Jackson fan (and he does seem to love to just get attention). BUT in this case--his heart is in the right place.

A Texas gentleman I know was afflicted with a sudden paralysis.

The Rev. Jackson came and prayed over him.

To my knowledge Mr. Jackson never made a big deal over it, nor derived any material benefit.

So maybe there's a good side, even to him, a comforting thought but of course doesn't excuse all the other harm he does.

P.S. The afflicted gentleman eventually recovered fully.

Jesse has known about her for a lot longer than today--he could have gone down long before now if he truly wanted to get her help---

I guess he couldn't tear himself away from Michael Jackson long enough before now, but like you said, he waited just long enough that when she dies, he can say he tried, but not look inadequate in his help by coming down sooner and have her still not get the help---

So what if Jesse Jr. voted for the bill? Where is he, where are any of the congresscritters or senators that voted to help her?

Like I just said on another thread---the dems, especially the leaders have been totally chickensh*t during this whole deal---they just disappeared and most haven't been seen since BEFORE the vote that Sunday night!
