Here is an e-mail that I received last night from Captain Mike [US Army, Special Forces] -- who is reporting in, from the front lines in IRAQ:
Well, it's early morning here and we are headed east. We have taken some light casualties but for the most part we are combat effective. The young boy was waiting at the airport when we got back and took myself and my senior staff to his folks house for dinner.I am seeing signs of a stabilizing electric grid and consumer goods are starting to come in. Of course I am certain that none of this is reaching you folks. The tangos are getting desperate and are running scared.
We are still subject to daily shellings from mortars and RPGs. However, organized attacks against American troops are down but they continue to kill the locals in large numbers and are targeting foreign reporters.
I hope you and yours are healthy and doing well.
Please forward this to the FREEPers.
Sincerely,
Socomofficer
...that MANY of us who remain safely here in the USA......REALLY care about our troops in Iraq, and their dangerous [but vitally important] mission there.
God Speed, Captain Mike!

This is CPT Pierce. To the FREEPers, keep the faith folks we will do our jobs. That is my promise to you all. Watch our backs back here in the world.
Right now we are waiting for transport north. And for obvious reasons I cannot disclose much more than that.
Thank you for your kind words and your support.
They mean a great deal to my men and myself.I sign this to you folks ... socomofficer.
God bless America and all those who understand that freedom comes with a price tag.
Way to go, Captain Mike. At the next Academy Awards, I will be there with you. I'll send a note to the Tinseltown city council to see if they will give us permission to bring weapons next time.
Good on ya, CPT Mike. Prayers for you -- and thank you for your service to this great nation and the to the cause of freedom.

FReepers, Blurblogger and I got to meet Captain Pierce at the KABC event on Wednesday night in Redondo Beach. He had recently joined the FReep on Hollywood.
The biggest round of applause during the evening was not for Sean Hannity. It was for Mike when he got up to ask a question and began by saying he was heading back to Iraq on Friday. Everyone in the theatre jumped to their feet and gave him a huge standing O. At the end of the night, he was called up on stage.
Mike, send us back some good news when you have the opportunity. You take care of the terrorist bastards over there; we will take care of the anti-American leftist bastards over here. Godspeed. It was an honor meeting you.

And now, here are some pix of Capt. Mike Pierce, the Army patriot who FREEPED THE OSCARS with Rondog and me and others...very cool to run into Mike there. However, Mike has been yanked from leave and is being shipped back this weekend to Iraq and he's ready to kick terrorist BOOTY. He knows the importance of what our LIBERATORS are doing overseas, to keep us safe in our beds and PJs. He GOT A STANDING O from the audience. He was asked to come up to the platform and was honored and thanked by all the talk show hosts as being a hero.
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT HE SAID? With tears in his eyes, he said he's not a hero, the ones who went over and didn't come back are the heroes. And now there are tears in my eyes.
Truly you too are a hero, a patriot and an American MAN OF HONOR, Capt. Pierce!
There were a few laughs as Sean tried to fix up our hero with a dinner date from a cute Conservative girl in the audience, before he returns to Iraq. Who knows?

Capt. Pierce, I'm so blessed to know you and to know you and other REAL AMERICANS are out there advancing LIBERTY by destroying the assets of the evil--and the enemy themselves.
We're working to do that here too with the enemy within.
Prayers UP! for your safety and for all our military's safety.
And prayers UP, Lord please also protect our dear First Lady Laura Bush in Afghanistan right now. Amen.
He's back in Iraq...no time for resting
Hollywood's relieved...that he's gone
They could not take much more of his protesting
The stars live of fear
Fear of Captain Pierce...of Captain Pierce
Bad guys who wear sheets have been alerted
Good guys on the way...that's bad news
So many of their posts have been deserted
'Cause they live in fear
Of Captain Pierce...of Captain Pierce
4-3-2-1
Special Forces, fierce and cunning
Chasing scumbags...see them running...home
As heroes risk their lives...fighting terror
They will humbly say, "It's our job"
And 9/11 was...a foolish error
Bad guys live in fear
Fear of Captain Pierce...of Captain Pierce
Grateful people say, "You're all heroes...
You have made us free, please don't leave
The swine who kill our kids, you've turned to zeroes"
Bad guys live in fear
Of Captain Pierce...of Captain Pierce
4-3-2-1
Special Forces, fierce and cunning
Chasing scumbags...see them running...home
When things settle down, mission's accomplished
Then they'll get to see...their families
When that great day comes and they're leaving
Robbins and Sean Penn will go hide
The Hollywood elite will all be grieving
'Cause they live in fear
Fear of Captain Pierce...Captain Pierce
Special Forces, fierce and cunning
Chasing scumbags...see them running
Our soldiers, best in the world
Watch more freedom flags unfurled
Our soldiers, best in the world
Watch more freedom flags unfurled
Our soldiers, best in the world
Watch more freedom flags unfurled
Doing my part to watch your back here...also praying that you stay safe, your mission is a success and your family is strong.
God Bless you.
I THANK YOU for your service

One of the PRIMARY objectives of this FReep was getting a MASSIVE (four foot by eight foot) full color version of the classic billboard by Citizens United:
from
www.citizensunited.org...in a "front and center" position -- DIRECTLY ACROSS from the Red Carpet arrival area.
We were EXTRAORDINARILY successful in executing that objective. :o)They say that "success has many fathers" -- and yesterday's TREMENDOUS victory was the result of the extraordinary efforts of MANY people...
...but NONE of it would have been possible without that 4' x 8' sign created by DoughtyOne.
It took considerable planning, and the resolution of many almost insurmountable obstacles -- which [in addition to the diligence of Blurblogger] required the intervention of a retired LAPD oficer, and a Captain in the U.S. Army [Special Forces], just back YESTERDAY from his second tour in Iraq ---- plus the quick thinking of the irrepressible Genevieve, and some giant of a man (who is in the process of becoming a U.S. citizen) whom she recruited from the "front lines" ---- but we got DoughtyOne's marvelous creation "front and center" for the WHOLE DAY - from 10 am to 5 pm.NO ONE arriving at the Red Carpet area could avoid seeing it. :o)Here is a PREVIOUS e-mail from Captain Mike:-- snip --

God speed, Sir.
Thank you so much for posting -- what a neat way to start out the morning. Glad to know that necessary items in Iraq such as electricity are improving.
I love the fact that Captain Mike is reporting live so we get the real story.
