Mel Gibson: Terri's Killing Is 'Murder'
News Max ^ | March 31st, 2005

Posted on 03/31/2005 12:00:48 AM PST by M. Espinola

In his strongest comments yet on the Terri Schiavo case, actor Mel Gibson calls her killing "nothing more than state sanctioned murder.”

The actor and director spoke out Wednesday night in a telephone interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity.

"I heard their cry for help,” Gibson explained his public comments. Gibson insisted that Terri Schiavo is not in a vegetative state.

Gibson said he decided to take a public stand because "it is completely wrong to deprive this poor woman from food and water.”

He added that the court ordered method of killing – depriving her of basic sustenance -- "is a prolonged and cruel execution.”

Gibson said he is closely following the case and is astounded by the developments.

"I just sit here watching this whole scenario play out in front of me with my mouth wide open, that our country has come to this,” he said, adding, "I think it’s a really black day.”

The actor offered little hope for Terri Schiavo at this point, describing the appeals as "a little too little too late.”

"It’s nothing more than state sanctioned murder,” Gibson continued.

He was also disturbed that a local Florida judge was given the unquestioned power to sentence Schiavo to death.

"All the big guys, they’ve got their hands tied by some tin-horned judge down there,” he said. "Common, when they want to whip a judge they got no problem getting Judge Moore in a heart beat.”

"It’s so wrong and I watch it, appalled and stunned, that we have gotten to this.”

The same thing that is already happening here in Euroland, will happen also in the US, that is, if the pro-death crowd have their way. Once again, a clear and unambiguous piece of evidence that Nazi policies are compatible/similar with/to the liberal/socialist agenda.

Isn't Terri's husband technically commiting adultary being with another woman while married to terri still? I'm surprised he's allowed any control because of that simple fact.

I heard it, and Mel Gibson was in total disgust with the system. He said that if Judge Moore can be removed for taking a stand, then why are the big mans hands tied with this little judge? Sure doesnt make any sense to me either.

Exactly. Ironically, when removing Judge Moore was about The Ten Commandments. One of them being "Thou Shall Not Kill."

Mel's right. Again.

Adultery isn't against the law. And it isn't a condition of which to remove him as guardian. It's a moot point.

Mel did speak out publically the Sunday before her tube was taken out.

As for Jackson, I hear you there.

"I wish Mel Gibson, Jesse Jackson, and whoever else with a notable name would have come forward on day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4, etc. instead of where it's getting irreversible..."

I do as well. I also know that our Heavenly Father is in charge and He is who is giving Terri comfort. Terri is a good and worthy servant, I am humbled by how this gal has struggled to stay alive given what she has been through alll this time.

I have been shamed by what some in this nation, most blessed of all nations throughout recorded history could do to one of its own under the perverted "RULE OF LAW".

By their words you shall know them!

"dumbfounded at the fact that some of our fellow FReepers don't get it."

You don't really expect the kool-aid drinkers to admit that the GOP dropped the ball, (walked off the court) on the most important pro-life case since roe v wade do you? But on the bright side all those new jobs in the euthanasia mills will help the economy and killing the helpless will cut down on the cost of Medicaid and Medicare.

And now repubs can say "vote for me and I will work to see that there are no more Terris" to cheering crowds of fools.

And now Rats can say "vote for me and I will protect the right to die with dignity" to cheering crowds of fools.

For the ruling class this is a win-win.

Me too. Some are now marching in a mantric lockstep.

I speak for myself, and wish for no one else to speak for me...about anything.

Because he cannot be forced to do so.

The parents cannot file for divorce for her on the basis of adultery?

They've tried that in court. It didn't work.

if He takes her, I was kind of hoping He takes the Pope on the same day just to give her parents some comfort after the torture they've been through

It would be bigamy in some states, but I don't know Florida's laws concerning common law spouses.

I thought I had read that.

Do you know the basis for the Courts decision?

He clearly is in violation of his marriage vows.
