W did all he could--within the law.Yes, he did, and so did Gov. Bush. Some folks seem to have advocated anarchy, however.

I never said I wanted him to emulate Bill Clinton. NO one despises the Clintons as much as I. I said I wanted him to lead. And what people wanted Bush to do ... would have directly emulated what Clinton did in the Elian matter.
Like I said, be careful what you ask for.

Switching over to duty to defend the US. I think he's done talking about Terri.

The President's comments on Terri's murder were stiff and insincere, in my opinion.
I wish I had my vote back!
I voted for him because I thought he would be different. He is no different than any of our self-serving politicians.

President needs to figure out this public speaking thing - he went right from Terri Schiavo's death to 9/11 in the same breath/sentence. Not a clear way to get your thoughts out to the people.

I think he could have been more vocal, although I'm not sure there is much more he could actually have done without pulling a Janet Reno (which would upset conservatives, I imagine).
But speaking of DA's, I'm really disappointed in Gonzalez. He was totally mute on this whole thing.

I'm interested in hearing what the CINC has to say about this, but would be more interested in hearing how his brother consulted his lawyers and how they told him that he had no authority over judge greer.
My 14 year old son said it well about three days ago. He read up on the Terri Schaivo story (mostly from FR), and his conclusion that it was proper and right to err on the side of life. Not death.
You have said what I've been saying for a week now. If she dies, Gov. Bush is toast. But even bread takes time to burn....nothing happens over night, least of all as soon as we would like.

Too bad there wasn't some banning early on.

"I hope he pleads for mercy on this nation from the Almighty, in front of all America." My bet is that no such thing will occur. It'll be something very "political", a whitewash. Speaking out like this AFTER Terri's death tells me all I need to know in advance of his speech. Too little, too late. Terri's barbaric treatment will not be forgotten, minimized, or swept under some political rug.

I am stunned that he drew no connection between our soldiers' defense of American lives and the duty of our government to do the same.
How disappointing.
