Felos Stunned by Hemlock Link

CALLER: Hi, Rush!

RUSH: Hi.

CALLER: I just wanted to know if you happened to catch George Felos on Fox & Friends this morning.

RUSH: Yes.

CALLER: What did you think?

RUSH: Well, there's a number of things that we have from Felos. One of the things -- what did you want to ask me about regarding Felos?

CALLER: Well, when they got to the last question I thought he looked, like, totally stunned. I think he thought that he did really, really good throughout the whole thing looking real calm.

RUSH: For people that don't know, what was the question?

CALLER: About the Hemlock Society?

RUSH: What was the question? I want you to tell me.

CALLER: Oh, I'm sorry. They had asked him -- they had heard a lot of talk on the radio -- or on talk radio, and they wanted to know if he really and truly belonged to the Hemlock Society.

RUSH: Yeah, and he said that he didn't.

CALLER: You didn't think that he looked stunned?

RUSH: Well, I think he looked stunned. I think he looked stunned, but he was not -- from everything I've been able to gather, he was not -- a member of the Hemlock Society.

CALLER: Oh, he wasn't?

RUSH: He was not. Here's what we know about the Hemlock Society and the Felos bunch, and this comes from Judi McLeod from the Toronto Free Press, it's a website, and we had the story yesterday. "Dr. Ronald Cranford, handpicked by Michael Schiavo to examine Terri and on whose say-so Terri was categorized in 'persistent vegetative state.' Cranford is the MD who officially ordered Terri’s feeding tube removed on March 18.... He was 1992’s featured speaker for the pro-euthanasia Hemlock Society, which was renamed The Choice in Dying Society," but not Felos. However, they're all connected because all these people are -- well, except for one, all of them are -- board members of the hospice in Pinellas Park. But Felos himself was not a member of the Hemlock Society. We have the sound bite. I think he was stunned not by the question about his membership but just the whole idea that it had been discovered that everybody involved in this hospice, that all the board members have and Felos does, too -- do have connections to people who are part of the Hemlock Society. It was a pro-euthanasia group. The question from Steve Doocy was, "Talk radio has been buzzing about your connection to the Hemlock Society. Could you just make that clear for us?"

FELOS: I don't know what they're... Uhhh, I don't know what they're talking about. I've -- I've -- I've spoken, uhhh, I've spoken before the Hemlock, uh, Society and -- but I'm -- I'm -- I'm not a member. Ummm, I don't serve, uh, in that organization, so I -- I -- don't know what they're talking about.

RUSH: I think he was a little stunned that the whole concept of the Hemlock Society was brought up here. I think this is something they thought was pretty much unknown because the mainstream press wasn't talking about it, the mainstream press is not talking about these connections.

The "Hemlock Society" is a group that promotes euthanasia, and assisted suicide. They have changed their name to "The Right to Die Society" but their motives are the same. Like the democrats, they believe that a catchy slogan that makes the false claim that their immoral behavior is a "Right" granted to them by the Constitution. Without the Right to Life, there in no Liberty,

(sorry never really paid attention to them until then)!!!!

I never paid attention until Terry Schindler-Schiavo.

Now, my life's mission is to make them regret ever killing that beautiful soul. I owe her that. We owe her that.

If Free Republic can bring down Dan Rather, we sure a s**t can bring down this two-bit death cult.

The patient does not WANT to eat, food is not a priority like it is for an otherwise healthy person.

The stomach takes ingested water and nutrients and adds them to the blood. Organs take the nutrients and water and yield polluted water which is extracted by the kidneys. If a properly-functioning body is denied food and water, the levels of nutrients and water in the blood fall to dangerously-low levels and many bad things happen.

If a person's major organs shut down, they will stop extracting nutrients and water from the blood. Consequently, very little food or water will be necessary to maintain proper concentrations in the blood. Indeed, taking in too much food or water when the body is in such a condition may be harmful because the body will have no way to get the excess nutrients and water out of the bloodstream.

Another way of looking at things is this: a properly functioning body will always be metabolizing something. If it's not given food and water, it will start eating itself. If metabolism ceases, so too does the need for food and water. Although the person is doomed in such a state, the body will not eat itself as it would if the metabolism were still functioning.

First, notice the distinction between Terri's case and your uncle's: he made his desires clear. They were "real-time."

The "bright line" is between doing harm and not -- between refusing an action that would be an assault in the person's mind and inviting or carrying out an action that is an actual assault on the body.

The refusal of a feeding tube will not cause death if the person is still allowed whatever oral hydration is possible - in that case, the disease causes death by limiting oral hydration. The intention is to avoid intervention, to avoid invasive intervention in the body.

The poison is the direct cause of death. The intention is to kill. The action is invasive.

In Terri's case, she could not make her wishes clear. The Court backed the husband with law enforcement when he caused the deliberate medical intervention of pulling the tube while simultaneously forbidding oral hydration. Her mother was forbidden to even give ice chips or a spoon of liquid. This intended death and caused death.

Wasn't there a huge outcry against them in Germany a few years back? The entire cult needs to be exposed and driven into the light. They can't hide behind John Travolta and 'fat actress' Kirstie Allie forever! (Even though the girth of the two of them combined could hide a small farm in Connecticut!!!).

Listen guys and gals....we're dealing in some heavy spiritual stuff here. I STRONGLY ADVICE each of you (us, me!) to have OUR selves right with God. This WILL be a battle...an invisible battle between good and evil.

No. I'm not a whacko...I'm being honest as to what the Bible says.

Don't go into this unprepared spiritually.

My uncle refused a feeding tube, and that isn't suicide. If he would've left the doctor's office and intentionally walked in front of a truck then that would've been suicide.

I am praying... searching... maybe God has a special place for those of us who search for truth?

I don't know if I am worthy, but I love God and truly make an effort to live according to Jesus' teachings. We can battle this by shining light on their darkness. We need to keep bringing on the light.

"What happened to Terri was assisted suicide at best, murder at the worst..."

My initial post didn't directly deal with TS, and I agree that her situation was radically different.

Don't grive for my uncle. He, like John Paul, suffered much before he died. They both are much better today.

I'm working on that. I truly am.

I can't do what I'm setting out to do without Jesus. I pray for His guidance every step of the way.

"You're a good person....I'll pray right along with you that you find peace, OK? :)"

Bless your kindness.

I fear that my patron saint (if Protestants have such a thing) is St. Thomas. Everytime I figure out some aspect of life, faith, death, etc I uncover more questions. I figure that God is big enough to handle a few questions, even if God's disciples are not.
