Does Israel Have a Right to Exist?
FrontPage Magazine ^ | April 6, 2005 | David Meir-Levi

A friend of mine asked me how I would answer the following question: "By what right does Israel exist?  Why does the world need such a hell-hole of a country, an apartheid-racist-war-mongering-Jewish theocracy?" I suggested that she consider the question as an opening for a conversation about the "right to exist" rather than as a challenge to Israel's character or to its right — or lack thereof — to exist.

The Arab Rejection of Israel

The last 65 years of Arab hate-speech, hate-preach, and hate-teach make it pretty clear that some significant part of the Arab world really does not want Israel to exist. That same segment really does the best it can to end Israel's existence, with 65 years of terror war punctuated by 3 major attempts at invasion, conquest, and destruction. The rhetoric of annihilation and the diatribe of genocide match the actions of these same Arab states, whose commitment of massive resources to the destruction of Israel is an implicit rejection of Israel's right to exist.

In a similar vein, 20 years ago, when Arafat agreed to recognize the state of Israel, his doing so was acclaimed far and wide as a great concession. Only a few had the perspicacity to point out that acknowledging the existence of a state that already existed was no great concession to anything except reality.  However, since Arafat continued to run a terror war against Israel and proclaim his desire to destroy Israel, his "concession" about Israel's existence was nothing more than a superficial bid to gain support in the USA. His continued psychotic desire to destroy Israel was an implicit rejection of Israel's right to exist.

"And I'd like to ask just how Israel is a hateful racist state?"

It is after all about the meaning of words.

The real question should be, as Rabbi Meir Kahane (Z"L) first raised it more than 30 years ago: Can Israel be both a Jewish State and a democracy at the same time? This dilemma is probably more responsible for Israel's current-day problems than anything else.

The answer is no! Had Israel followed through on that obvious answer ( you can't be both an exclusive and inclusive country at the same time), thrown out the Arabs, and populated the Land with Jews only, the purpose for which it was intended, the world would have screamed for 6 months, the UN would have authored umpteen resolutions against Israel, but it eventually would have been established that Israel was given by G-d to the Jewish people as a homeland for an eternal inheritance.

Israel has shown over the last 57 years, it can defend itself from attacks by an enemy that severely outnumbers their fighters, and has succeeded in defeating the enemy each time; not only because of Israel's prowess on the battlefield, but mainly due to Divine intervention. Sooner or later, the world would have caught on.

Because of the largely secular nature of Israel's government, their own leaders are intimidated by threats, and are ready to cede more Holy Land to an enemy that is only out to destroy Israel, one way or other. What a shame!!!

Its obscene to even ponder the question. Israel's existence is beyond debate, like that of every other nation. The fact its raised, tells us only how widespread Judeophobia is in the world today.

Its like asking if Terri Schindler had the "right to die".

You leave it up to the lefties and Israel would be a footnote in history.

THey can go back to ancient borders and give back a ton of the Middle East to Israel. Most of Egypt for starters....

This is a stupid country.

...how I would answer the following question: "By what right does Israel exist?  Why does the world need such a hell-hole of a country, an apartheid-racist-war-mongering-Jewish theocracy?"

The real question is why should I carry on a discussion with someone who obviously has no intention of letting reality contradict their dogma.

She didn't want a discussion; she wanted you to listen to her soliloquy.

I seem to recall reading (Dr. Benard Lewis?) that the Dome Of The Rock wasn't considered all that big of a deal in the Islamic world until fairly recent times, same goes for the Crusades.

I cheer and second the stance on Israel of Bombardier, a fellow Catholic! Brother, as they say in the South, I like the way you preach! Especially the last paragraph you wrote! I couldn't have put it better! God bless you real good, brother!

Any land occupied by muslimes, even if stolen from someone else -- IOW, all land where Moslems have ever lived. But anyway...
What the Qur'an Really Says
by Saykh Prof. Abdul Haddi Palazzi
The Qur'an recognizes the Land of Israel as the heritage of the Jews and it explains that, before the Last Judgment, Jews will return to dwell there. This prophecy has already been fulfilled... Viewing the Jewish return to Israel as a Western invasion and Zionists as recent colonizers is new. It has no basis in authentic Islamic faith. According to the Qur'an, no person, people or religious community can claim a permanent right of possession over any territory. The Earth belongs exclusively to God, and He is free to entrust sovereignty over land to whomever He likes for whatever time period that He chooses.
Thanks to Berosus for pointing that one a year or so ago.

The answer to the above question is true for Israel, too
