It's really hard to extract any truth from FR. Here's another shot. I've heard a lot about judicial activism and maliciously liberal judges, but have not heard exactly what they have done. I am a kid whose beliefs have not solidified yet. My parents are very conservative and want me to turn into one too. So I come to this website to learn about the movement, but all you guys do is yell about things that don't seem wrong to me. Here's my question: would is be possible for anyone here to write down 20 liberal usurpations, 20 times that rights were ignored, and 20 things that the courts would do differently if they were unbiased? You guys make it sound like a big problem, so this shouldn't be too hard...
Assuming that you are sincere, I'd suggest that you do some reading. Start with Congressman Billybob's speech of today. It's linked right over in the right hand column under Activism. Then, there is a cornucopia of material that details the harm done to our country by an activist judiciary.
Then as you have more time, again assuming that your interest is sincere, read some Tom Sowell. Try "The Vision of the Anointed - Self Congratulation as the Basis of Social Policy" Maybe that will give you some idea why we "yell about some things". Also, it wouldn't hurt to read his "Basic Economics" and "Applied Economics". When you have matured a bit, try Sowell's "Knowledge and Decisions".
But, I am very curious to know just what things we "yell about" that "don't seem wrong" to you.
Nah, more like suicide troll. The first line of the post, "It's really hard to extract any truth from FR..." definite troll.
I doubt it!!!
If I am not embarassed by Ted and JF'n K being at the Pope's funeral,
I CAN NO LONGER BE EMBARASSED BY ANYTHING!
Y'all shouldn't feed the troll. JMHO.
I left Mass hole behind 6 months ago.
LOL! My sentiments, exactly.
vaudine
Why exactly do you not think that I am a kid?
Usurper: a person; traditionally a tyrant who uses his power to abuse the people and further his own cause.
Usurpation: the act of using one's own power over people to promote one's own ideals at the expense of others
How about the California Propositions passed by popular referendums declared unconsitutional by their courts>
Why would Teddy and Kerry embarrass you ..??
The only ones they're embarrassing is themselves.
The moon is made of cheese. Don't believe it when they say it is a rock. I was there.
I give up! You guys seem to translate activism as what others would translate as allowing Americans the right to the pursuit of happiness with the same sex. These may be facts, and thanks, but my interpretation of those facts is different...btw, when will people acknowledge that what I write is from the hand of a 17 -year-old disabled kid and not that of some politician? Oh well.
How about answering the posts on the other threads you've visited tonight?
"...20 times that rights were ignored..."
First of all, check your assumptions if you desire truth. What the left and liberal judges proclaim to be "rights" are often mere inventions. For example, if the very definition of "marriage" throughout time has been that special union between a male and female which creates a family through this union and the children they produce, then how can there be a gay rights demand for marriage? There is no "right" involved just because someone wants to usurp the meaning of any term. You can proclaim anything a "right" but that does not make it legal or right. Steve and his pet goat Annie do not have any inherent "right" to marry unless some idiot judge changes that by his personal fiat. The law be damned!
Does the name Judge Greer, ring a bell?
Excuse me, I don't want you to wait on me! I want you to produce a factual violation of the constitution -- which you have not done, telling me that you're as clueless as I am. You interpret allowance of same sex-marriage unconstitutional, I consider banning it unconstitutional; neither is fact. I want a FACT.
Interesting, huh?
It's hard to extract our truth because we like to keep it, not throw it away.
How about the "constitutional right to privacy"? Millions have lost their lives over that fact, Conserve!
