My goodness!

Don't get excited -remain calm and serene knowing that you are correct to oppose the homosexual indoctrination agenda.

That shows you are none of the above. Homosexuality is obscene by its definition and our nation has regulated such things since its founding. It is only within recent history that the sexually egocentric have successful duped so many into allowing the promotion of sexual deviance on public school property and other public venues. Sexual issues are intrinsically private in nature though in today's culture the lines have been increasly erased allowing the most moronic ideas and concepts to be championed in the name of self-esteem and tolerance. A true conservative would be minimalistic and require that schools do what they are chartered to do, educate our children and leave complex issues like sexuality to the children and their parents.

I love The National Day of Silence.

It's one of those few days you can get a word in edgewise with some of these people.

I think an that something which isn't considered by all the well-intentioned folks who push for the Gay Straight Alliance after school clubs is the increasing risk they are placing the students that participate. It increases the chances that students who may be confused or inexperienced sexually will become sexually active through hooking up at these clubs...This will especially for male students will result in the potential increase of HIV infections as more experienced and sexually active boys have a greater pool of potential partners to infect. I think what we will find in the most active chapters of such clubs that there is a higher than average incidence of STDs than the general population much like you find in homosexual and bisexual populations in general. Will anyone ever do the surveys and crunch the numbers? When gay pigs fly.

Well, basically I think he is trying to say that they won't come down on one side or the other on whether homosexuality is wrong, but that they are pretty much telling the student body that it's wrong to give somebody a hard time, verbally or physically, because they are gay,

That's a message that I think most people agree with - I certainly do.

The tip-off is that he is a 'faculty advisor,' which means he is on the faculty, which means he is a teacher, which means he has a difficult time communicating thoughts clearly. :-)

"We advocate a moral value -- we want kids to feel safe and respected." >>.

Yep, a lot of doublespeak and BS.

No prayer, no God, no morals, no values, secular humanism, earth "worship" day, no 10 commandments, sexual health clinics, condom demonstrations-traditional family and western civilization, gone.

Everyone who is well adjusted is tolerant of buggery. If you are'nt tolerant of all kinds of weird stuff you have problems: you likely need to accept your own gayness.
We know this because all normal people approve of homosexuality. We know this because only nuts don't tolerate homosexuality.
Etc. etc., ad nauseum.

Yeah, I kinda figured as much.  He could have just as easily have said we want tolerance.  But tolerance is no longer what it's about, it's acceptance and beyond.

In my all boys Jesuit high school, we knew who was gay but if we started making trouble about it, we would be disciplined for unbecoming conduct toward a fellow student.  This wasn't just a policy for gay kids but for each and every one of us.

If you wanted to hang around with other gay guys, you joined the theater group or the TV/Media group.  We didn't need a self proclaimed group based on sexuality.  And I guess that's what bothers me.  If gay kids are being harassed and feel they need their own club to be "safe", then there's something very wrong with the discipline in the school and that is what should be fixed before a club like this is established.

Sexuality, and I mean heterosexuality, is generally over the top at high schools today.  That was somewhat true even 20 years ago.  That's why I was glad to go to a single sex school.  My wife taught at a co-ed school in the 90's and the male/female shenanigans going on in stairwells and other nooks and crannies was shocking to her.

Perhaps a general reduction in "public displays of affection" and uniforms would help to desexualize the environment and reduce the need for homosexual students to feel like they need their own club to make out.

Yep, I attended an all boys NYC Jesuit High School from 1982-1986 and my experience is close to yours. It wouldn't be called a gay-friendly environmeent at all, but it wasn't notably hostile either.

Young people have to learn that beating on someone verbally or physically because they are different is not good.

That being said, it has come full circle: gay students in nyc now seek their own school (the Harvey Milk school) to feel safe. Esentially, self-segregation. So we as a culture went from segregation, to integration and acceptance, and then self-segregation. Silly and nutty - no student should be harmed by another student without severe consequences - that goes if the victim is too short, too fat, too skinny, too gay, too feminine, too masculine - whatever.

Ha! Some time spent in JUG would do wonders for the trouble makers!

I am aware the government has regulated our lives since its founding. I'm just opposed to it. Schools are chartered to educate. But the school is not sponsering the club, an individual is. And the meetings aren't during school hours; they are after school. Sexual issues are intrinsically private, as are religious issues. But like-minded people love forming clubs and meeting. To me it is no different than students holding prayer meetings. The school isn't sponsering it; the kids are.
