Following Pope John Paul II's visit to the Middle East in 2000 and 2001, some prominent Muslim leaders openly discussed the future dominance of Islam in Europe, including conquesting the Vatican.
While the identity of the next pope is decided, one of the pressing issues he will have to deal with is the growing Muslim community in Europe, part of which have Islamist inclinations. As the New York Times reported this week, the next pope will be facing "increasing secularism in Europe, contrasting with the religious revival in the Islamic world and the rising number of Muslim immigrants in Europe."
Saudi Sheikh Muhammad bin Abd Al-Rahman Al-'Arifi, Imam of the mosque of King Fahd Defense Academy, discussed the coming Muslim conquest of the Vatican. Citing a Hadith in an article posted on the Kalemat website in 2002, he stated: " We will control the land of the Vatican; we will control Rome and introduce Islam in it. Yes, the Christians, who carve crosses on the breasts of the Muslims will yet pay us the Jiziya [poll tax paid by non-Muslims under Muslim rule], in humiliation, or they will convert to Islam "
Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood and head of The European Council for Fatwa and Research and the founder of European based International Council of Muslim Scholars (Imams) posted a fatwa on the website www.islamonline.net, in 2002 about the "signs of the victory of Islam" in Europe.
Also citing a well-known Hadith, Al-Qaradhawi wrote: " The Prophet Muhammad was asked: 'What city will be conquered first, Constantinople or Romiyya?' He answered: 'The city of Hirqil [i.e. the Byzantine emperor Heraclius] will be conquered first' that is, Constantinople Romiyya is the city called today 'Rome,' the capital of Italy and we hope and believe [that it too will be conquered]."

I hope a Democrat isn't in office at the time. It's not a stretch to imagine her sending in troops to support the Muslims in their efforts.
I suggest 50 caliber swords this time.
Exactly! Anyone ever heard of CAIR?? I would not make jabs at Europe or the Vatican until you investigate your city, county and state.
bttt
It's bad enough that Pakistan has nukes. We're on the verge of going to war to stop Iran getting them. As much as I hate to say it, I think once again we're going to be forced to go to the rescue of France, just to keep nukes out of muslim hands. And we can expect the French to resist us this time even more than they did the last time we went to their rescue, such is their hatred of Americans.
France has decommissioned and made all of their ICBM's inactive. They do however have the worlds 4th largest nuclear force, but it consists of 4 subs and about 60 Mirage 2000 capable of carrying nuclear armed missiles. If France begins to fall, the US should eliminate the French nuclear forces before they fall into the hands of the Islamic Front. My guess would be that the US eliminates the French Subs and England eliminates the 60 French Mirage 2000's with US assitance. The Eastern front will be more worriesome. Poland and Russia will need to contain the eastern Islamic Front. China needs to wake up and shrug its US HyperPower Envy and begin to deal with the threat coming from their south and west.
The word is "conquering." Damnation. Do writers not use dictionaries any more? Did not spell check catch this? Are editors illiterate?
It's a new millenium. Let's start with number one, again
Of course, natural and Divine Law morality and evangelization must be routinely practiced but war by the west is inevitable. Islam is already at war with the west.
It may be too late all right, but if the Europeans were wide awake they'd be panic stricken--and in overdrive.
Also citing a well-known Hadith, Al-Qaradhawi wrote: " The Prophet Muhammad was asked: 'What city will be conquered first, Constantinople or Romiyya?' He answered: 'The city of Hirqil [i.e. the Byzantine emperor Heraclius] will be conquered first' - that is, Constantinople Romiyya is the city called today 'Rome,' the capital of Italy and we hope and believe [that it too will be conquered]."
Al-Qaradhawi elaborated on what this Islamic ruling means in the current period of history, "This means that Islam will return to Europe as a conqueror and victor, after being expelled from it twice I maintain that the conquest this time will not be by the sword but by preaching and ideology "
On his weekly Al-Jazeera religious program in 1999, Al-Qaradhawi made similar statements: "All right, Constantinople was conquered, and the second part of the prophecy remains, that is, the conquest of Rome. This means that Islam will return to Europe. Islam entered Europe twice and left it Perhaps the next conquest will be by means of preaching and ideology. The conquest need not necessarily be by the sword Perhaps we will conquer these lands without armies. We want an army of preachers and teachers who will present Islam in all languages "
In November 2000, Al-Qaradhawi again speaking on this subject on his Al-Jazeera show elaborated on the importance of European Da'wa (spreading Islam to non-Muslims): "Europe will see that it suffers from materialistic culture, and will seek an alternative Islam will return to Europe and the Europeans will convert to Islam."
Following this statement, there were media reports about the growing Muslim community in Italy. On May 14, 2000, the Boston Globe stated that at the time there were nearly 1 million Muslims in Italy, a number which doubled in just 10 years. The report also noted there were over 10,000 Italian-born converts, with the number of mosques and Islamic cultural centers having gone from 12 to 400 in the past 16 years.
Other Muslim religious figures to discuss the coming Islamic conquest of the Vatican include: the Palestinian Authority's Deputy Minister of Awqaf, Sheikh Yousef Juma'a Salameh; Saudi Sheikh Naser Muhammad Al-Naser; and Sudanese Sheikh Muhammad Abd Al-Karim. As this discussion has been occurring, the population of Muslims in Europe has grown exponentially and as Al-Qaradhawi in fact predicted, that has happened not by the sword but by preachers. Since September 11, 2001, European governments have begun to monitor the activities and sermons of Imams: The Spanish government proposed monitoring Imams sermons following last year's Madrid bombings. The Netherlands began a program to train its own Imams and no longer allows them to come from abroad following the murder of filmmaker Theo Van Gogh; In France where 10% of the total population is Muslim, the French government has begun to expel Islamist Imams; In Britain Islamist Imams are now on trial for connections to Al-Qa'ida; Italy has also expelled Imams for pledging allegiance to Osama bin Laden.
The issue of Islam in Europe can be expected to be high on the agenda of the next Pope.

The Pope will be facing the specter of "the rising number of Muslim immigrants? So will American tourists and normal Europeans.
I have some bad news for the NYT, Katie Couric, and their buddies at CBS, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and the Rockefeller Foundation.
Condoms aren't the answer. [irony]
You are exactly right. As long as European couples continue having, at most, two children (and often not even that), demography will doom the West. The Pope has already given Europe the message it must heed, if it wants to save itself.
All the talk of crusades is nonsense. The Moslems are not engaged in a military conquest, and wouuldn't be able to conquer Europe militarily if they wanted to. Europeans are inviting the Moslems in, to do the jobs that the Europeans who were never born--due to contraception or abortion--should be doing.
I agree with your assessment of Islam. It is very totalitarian in nature, more so than other religions. I'd rather die than convert!
Islam's Jihad is well-underway, announced publicly in the Mecca Declaration in 1981. The response to it isn't an either/or situation. It is both. Natural and Divine Law must be adhered to and Islam must be resisted at all points - beginning with refusing Muslims admittance into the West because their totatitarian ideology is incompatible with liberty. Islam, in its nature, is unchanged after 13 Centuries. They are murdering our Christian brothers and sisters all over the globe. "Don't use condoms" isn't a sufficient answer.
So? We better confront Islam as Christians confronted Rome as a better idea. Those that mean a 'military war' - that went out with the tide in the Old Testament. The realistic Pope has already pointed the way for the West - do not practice birth control, homosexuality and abortion. Jesus Rules.
Catholics don't need another official crusade. They need a pope who will
1. Ends the ridiculous position that people have the right to immigrate anywhere they want in unlimited numbers and have the host country educate, feed, and give them free heath care.
2. Stop the So-called "social justice" (socialism) nonsense which levies punishing taxes on individuals and makes having a family extremely difficult
3. Stop opposing and spreading lies about the United States in its war on terrorism
First of all, we did just that in years past. The German American Bund (or Friendship Society depending on where you were) was an American Nazi party. Until Pearl Harbor, there were a number of people who wanted the US to fight on the side of Germany. Google it, it is scary how blind we were
One of the stated goals of the TROP is to make the Vatican a mosque. The way things are going in the EU, they very well may achieve this goal very soon. The EU authorities are much more comfortable with the islamofacists than with any Christian.
I say, why not lift the cross on more time and take back Constantinople? I am sure our Greek Orthodox friends would love it.
They'll take the Vatican over my dead body.
Not much different from what is happening in Michigan and other parts of the US. Europe invented cultural suicide; we are the immitators. Bought your prayer rug yet?
