This is a "red-handed" catch; the print version is cropped very distinctly--it eliminates the proper context, and the lie is supported by the caption on p.35:

Protestors blast Coulter at the G.O.P. Convention in New York City last year, above left. She addresses the Conservative Politidcal Action Conference in Wasbhington in February (sic)

Note: the entire point of the caption would have been destroyed unless the photo was distorted. Let's hear some outrage!

There were two photos...the CPAC was a separate photo, yes.

that's too funny though - cropping just under "communists for Kerry" - they just loved that poster so much they were determined to show it.

This WAS used in the print article. But they cropped it!!! They cut it off just below communistsforkerry.com. You can't tell it's a pro-Coulter sign. You can't see the "Criminals for Gun Control" at all! Our "objective" media at work again.

So much the better.

In a future book, Ann Coulter can use that cropped photo and juxtapose it with the uncropped photo to demonstrate how Time Magazine used the editing of photos for propaganda purposes just as the Soviets once did.

just thought of something - the two pictures ("protesters" and CPAC speaking) were meant to illustrate "Demon and Idol."

in other words, the protest picture was only meant to show Ann as a "Demon." (the "Idol" refers to the CPAC picture.)

So Time fixed the problem on the web site by changing "Demon" to "Idol." now I get it.

We will have to remember to bring this up, over-and-over, as we examine Time's credentials during the next couple of election cycles.

Unrelated, the Time editors managed to find an exquisitely softened photo of Barbara Boxer in the same issue (makes her look 90 yrs younger.) The photo is as gooshie as the 10 softball questions for the intellectually challenged senator.
