Something tells me that Ratzinger would have the guts to excommunicate pro-abortion politicians.

"Do cardinals usually applaud during homilies? It's never happened at any Mass that I've been to."
Be careful... That might lead to dancing!

I am not a Catholic, but had a lot of respect overall for Pope John Paul II.
I was very surprised that the church was letting those losers slide.

liberal bishops in America These are the people who I settle the blame for the current state of the Catholic Church in America. These men accepted the concept of "chaste" homosexuals in the clergy and opened the door to the rampant abuse of young boys by homosexual priests (and its the homosexuals that have caused the Church problems - hetro priests who break their vows do it with adult women who don't sue for abuse). These men also covered for the abusers because they do not want their liberal views discredited.
We need Cardinal R., or someone with his chops, to keep the Church on the narrow road, unlike some others who have set foot on the wide road that leads only down (Lutherans, Episcopalians, etc.).
I thought I would sing another verse for the choir. ;^D)

If it makes the DEMS/LIBS go into hissy fits, and makes them spin and toil like the sun squelches the weeds, then I am all for Ratzinger.
At least his name fits the bill :
Here are some Definitions of the word ( Zinger ) I got this from :
http://thesaurus.reference.com/search?q=zinger Definition : Zinger.
Main Entry : hit
Part of speech: noun 1
Here are some interesting definitions of ZINGER.
bang - buffet-clash-collision-impack-knock-one-two punch-plunk-punch-shock-shot-slap-smack-smash-wallop-whammy-zap-zinger.
So basically, Zinger means = ZOT or ZOTTED.
RAT - ZINGER =
I like this new Pope already.

Even if he only has five years in the tank...
That would be fine. He could spend it all in Rome, and that would be enough time to clean house. Swing the meat cleaver. Break out the lumber. Throw around big metaphors.
To: CyberAnt
Well,,, if they do pick Ratzinger, we better get out the office seal of the Democrat Party.

Cardinal Ratzinger is a Man's Man of God and a very powerful spiritual person. He is pragmatic, compassionate and tough and he would set a good foundation for the future. He has the balance of tenderness and toughness that we should look for in our leaders. It would be interesting and entertaining to watch him as Supreme Pontiff.

Luther also taught that bigamy was OK because Scripture didn't condemn it.

Sorry .. I don't understand what you mean by that ..??

Agreed. At his age Ratzinger could only be a transitional Pope, but he would be a rock on which to build for the future. I wish him well, and may the Holy Spirit guide the conclave as well as in the election of John Paul II. by Malesherbes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am definitely not claiming to be directly guided by the Holy Ghost in this, but it sure seems to me that it would be a good thing for the Church if the Panzerkardinal became the Panzerpope. by Luddite Patent Counsel ("Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others." - Groucho Marx) I am in 100% agreement with both of you.
Let the white smoke out!
Especially for the Panzerkardinal!
P.S. Loved ole Groucho. You Bet Your Life was one of my dad's favorite T.V. shows.
