Bush's Border Blunder - A Friendly ‘Heads Up’ to the Chief Executive
CHRONWATCH.COM ^ | APRIL 19, 2005 | JAMES ATTICUS BOWDEN

Posted on 04/18/2005 9:39:25 PM PDT by CHARLITE

President Bush’s big border blunder was calling a couple of hundred middle-aged citizens ‘vigilantes.’ The name-calling will blow up and destroy his presidency and Party if ever the Islamists attack again on his watch. The American People are forgiving and trusting, but ruthless and vindictive when ambushed or betrayed. If it’s found that attacking Islamists came through what used to be our southern border, what happened to President Nixon and the Republicans will look tame.

President Bush doesn’t see the irony in telling Israel to control their population within borders – point blank – while being unwilling to demand the same of Mexico. Why are some borders worth keeping and our own a sham? This open joke may become an open sore after another mass murder of Americans.

If a few civilians in lawn chairs with binoculars cause such an uproar, what would happen if one hundred-thousand armed Americans stood border watch? ‘Minuteman’ mania? Methinks they protesteth too much.

If a sixty-thousand soldier Mexican Army crossed our border, it’s a military invasion and act of war. Aren’t more than six million unarmed Mexicans illegally entering our country an immigrant invasion? Yet, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion” (U.S. Constitution. Article IV. Section 4). More than twelve million illegal immigrants from all over the world have already invaded and more than a million will follow this year. But, the Liberals and weak-it-doesn’t-matter-why-on-this-issue leaders can’t even call people by their proper names – illegal, let alone invaders.

It’s like they’re channeling Robert Frost mocking, “Good fences make good neighbors.” Even the poet asked, “Before I built a wall I’d ask to know what I was walling in or walling out. And to whom I was like to give offence?” Excellent question.

America should wall out the few hundred, or thousand, Islamists who will slip in with the illegals and murder Americans for another, worse 9-11 attack.

The U.S. Government should keep out the millions of illegal workers who supposedly do jobs Americans won’t do. The excess labor keeps down the minimum wage the market maintains. Employers will pay working class Americans more or automate - which creates better paying high tech jobs. The national market will adjust, even if that drives up the cost of produce, infamous grapes and lettuce, or whatever. Only allow guest workers when you can actually regulate them.

The cities, counties, states, and federal governments will save billions of dollars paid for social services, education, medical and other benefits. Far more than what illegals pay in taxes, when they do.

The families of America will be protected from the criminal behavior of thousands of illegals.

There will be less internal security threat the day an economic shock or serious depression dumps millions of illegals out on the streets unemployed and desperate.

The U.S can either keep the goose that lays golden eggs, our capitalist economy, for a Munificent Destiny dedicated to foreign investment, or surrender to foreign invasion that ultimately will overload and destroy our economy. Either, the illegals build their own countries with our capital or kill our country because of the cowardice of our leaders.

Nations without borders die. It takes a generation for immigrants to fully master English as their first tongue, discard their un-American cultural baggage, and participate in American Civilization as Americans, not as aliens. A million or so legal immigrants every year can assimilate. Tens of millions of invaders make a minority into a competing culture.

The politicians need to fine, permanently deny citizenship, and put on probation the illegals or ship them out. Anything less allows the every illegal family to birth babies as American anchors to keep them in the country forever without consequences for flouting the laws. Either we’re a nation of laws or scofflaws.

The humanitarian excuses to pity the families who broke the law to come here but obeyed the rules since then are heart-wrenching. But, it’s time for either national tough love discipline or national disaster and dissolution. The immigrant invasion will only increase. Today’s excuses are tomorrow’s culpability.

Let a million or two immigrants come in legally to open arms. Give a huge preference to neighboring Mexico. Throw out the weak politicians, write stronger laws for state and federal governments, impeach meddlesome judges, or take action as needed.

If four million mourners rushed to Rome, how many patriots could surge to any spot where the U.S. Government fails its Constitutional duty?

That's just because they are a handful of people. If there were more, many more...

They had 1000-1500 signed up. This was for the entire month of April. It is a good bet that many did not show up or sign up due to the negative publicity that began before April 1. With President Bush referring to them as vigilantes prior to the start of the project, what should we expect?

I love this president, but I desperately wish that he would get as tough on all of these illegals, as he was on the Taliban and Saddam's rotten regime!

I feel the same way...on both counts. Also, thanks for the GREAT picture!

He is just one opinion although the chief administrator. We all have equal authority in matters of opinion. When enough members of our democracy speak up he will come around.

and a bunch of Freepers for that matter

They are only maybe two dozen hardcore relaxed immigration advocates but they do enjoy one advantage.

"I love this president, but I desperately wish that he would get as tough on all of these illegals, as he was on the Taliban and Saddam's rotten regime!

What is killing me is that I know in my heart that he is equipped with the necessary strength and resolve to get real with this immense danger to America....and so I'm floored at his inattention to such danger. Just can't understand his thinking on this one topic....which actually is part and parcel of the entire War on Terror, or it certainly should be.

As another poster just said, "Securing the borders (and ports, I might add) should have been the first thing that was done, right after 9/11." All border crossings should have been suspended immediately until "further notice." Period.

We had the manpower then, and we have it now....to fortify our borders, both north and south. The president should simply issue the order!

Roger Hedgecock was subbing for Rush this morning, and he made a point of saying that if the CIC gave the order to the air training base at Yuma, AZ, to secure that base, it would be done inside of one hour or less. Why not the entire length of both borders? If we have the amazing logistics to move men and materiel from bases all over the U.S. to the Persian Gulf...........150,000 in 2003 and 250,000 in Desert Storm, then we can militarize our borders.............and, excuse me, but to he$$ with Vicente Fox's objections.

There may be a few jerks who might think that the photos of the Salvatrucha MS-13 terrorists were only examples of the very worse that comes across the border. Here's what all of them leave behind on ranches and Fed. Park land. Even the environmentalists hate this part of the illegal movement. . . . and mind you, this garbage is all over the border invasion lands - our lands! Our American land! http://www.minutemanproject.com/photos/photos_2005apr16_layup.html

You don't have to convince me, FRiend.

If I were CIC, there would be plentiful food for buzzards on the border... know whut I mean?

I am afraid it will take another terrorist attack,

Na! How many terrorist attacks have we already had? How many were supposedly thwarted by our expensive intelligence? How many non-Mexicans have been reported coming across the border? The government doesn't care about this issue. If Big Brother was ever going to care, there's plenty of reasons already. One more attack will be just another attack. Perhaps I am more pessimistic than you are. :-(

Maybe so.... I tell you this: Big Brother will care when the next attack comes, if proven via Mexico, when hundreds of thousands of armed and angry citizens converge on the border.

Uh, sorry ... those aren't the sort of Volunteers we're looking for where the Army of One (World) is concerned.

I'm surprised he didn't call them insurgents. That's what they are, after all.

This is a very comprehensive article. The author covers all the bases on this issue. However, lots of Americans (and I have said this before) find this an emotionally charged issue. Many of us are third or fourth generation American as it is. Our families came here and were made to prove that they were not criminals, were not infirm, and had a home and job were waiting for them. Otherwise, they were sent back. Descendants of these immigrants feel badly demanding a curtailment of immigration to this country. However, if the government would just enforce the same rigorous and fair standards for all immigrants as they did for our grandparents, maybe the looming civil strife in the US over this will be averted. I do see continued and vicious civil discord over immigration which will rival or perhaps surpass the kind of events and animosity which Americans endured during the Civil Rights confrontations in the 1960's and which unscrupulous politicians in this country continue to cultivate and to perpetuate by any means in order to garner votes among minorities and.p>

It wouldn't hurt to add photos of unsanitary sanitary products for impact...

Two of the 17 or so pics in this photo montage give that impact.
