RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY - Michael Savage blasts Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh

RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY

RABID radio host Michael Savage is whining that he has been banned from the Fox News Channel after he dissed Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The controversial conservative — who was fired by MSNBC in 2003 after referring to a caller to his show as "a sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die" — recently burned more bridges by calling O'Reilly a "Leper-Con who poses as a conservative" and Hannity "another Republican bootlicker who began as a Rush [Limbaugh] understudy" on his "Savage Nation" radio show.

Savage claims that he's been bumped off four scheduled appearances on Fox News Channel in the wake of his caustic comments.

"These two are now acting the way the mainstream media has been acting for decades, thinking they are the gatekeepers of who shall be heard in the conservative world," Savage sputtered in a statement.

"Both are jealous of my audience and are trying to silence me because they do not want the competition."

Savage boasted that the supposed "ban" has not affected sales of his new book, "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder," which debuts at No. 6 on the New York Times best-seller list next week.

The gay-bashing broadcaster isn't the only publicity hound taking aim at O'Reilly, the undisputed king of cable news.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue, famed for firing off several press releases a day to media outlets, is ticked that O'Reilly once described him as a "witch-hunter" and Pope John Paul II as an "autocrat."

"My members are a little bit fed up with him," Donohue claims. "I guess he feels like if he is to the left of me, he'll appear more fair and balanced. We're on the same side philosophically on most issues. But I feel like, when someone crosses the line from criticism

Yeah. That remarks sounds like it coulda come right straight out of the mouth of Alec Baldwin.

Savage has good insights and ideas but NO self control.

Donohue was attempting to minimize the deplorable action against hundreds and possible over 1000 young people abused by clergy in his church. You support that? Those actions could have impeded or slowed the publics desire to stop the abuse by slowing further investigation. So what's your agenda?

Since you're careless in the way you use words on this forum, it's probably too much to expect that you would read Donohue's words with any attention to meaning, either.

Donohue did NOT "minimize" the sex scandal. He noted, accurately, the media's hypocrisy in hyping the accusations leveled against priests. It does not "minimize" the abhorrent actions of certain priests to point out the sensational nature of the coverage, and the small percentage of priests who actually engaged in such sins.

Your use of the word "hater" to describe Donohue, and your lame explanation, tells me all I need to know about your agenda, pal. Spare me a response; I have nothing to say to Catholic bashers.

The purpose of Donhue in that exchange was to minimize the problem. He used the "everybody does it" defense. Does it matter whether it's 1 priest, 10 priests, 50 priests or 25 Baptist ministers? Donohue should have been quick to say that the church will open itself to any relevant investigation and we will do everything to punish those involved. Instead his actions were designed to stonewall and deflect to change the publics outrage. Period. Donhue hates those who expose hyprocracy in his church. And through that extrapolates hate toward those who made the claims of abuse. He minimized thier claims, especially those that were legitimate.

You know it's funny. While it's not about Donohue, out pastor yesterday said something that caught my ear. I've read so much here on FR about the media trying to destroy and tear down the image of the new pope. During his discussion, he said he was dismayed at the way the media seemed to adore the new pope. 180 degrees from what I've seen here on FR.

It isn't hard to see the decline in one's words
and actions as in Alzheimers disease...Same goes for
the nutcases that are so egotistical that the norm
is beyond their vitriol..they have to exploit it
until they, themselves are the problem. He would
fit perfectly with Carville and Begala...two of the
most despicable pseudo-intellectuals. Jake

And through that extrapolates hate toward those who made the claims of abuse.

Spoken like some Marxist professor.

Thanks, Joe, you've done quite enough to explain your bogus claim that William Donohue is a "hater." Now go away and leave the Whore-of-Babylon Papists and their AntiChrist, the Pope, alone.

What a nut.

It ain't Beck. Whatever you may think of Glenn personally, he is a genuine guy, and what you hear on the radio is what you get in person.

Laura Ingraham is a sloppy speaker. Until her speech patterns tighten up to match her writing, she will be annoying.

I think he's right on the mark with his comments about Bill Oreilly.Does Fox News consider him a hater because he has strong views or because he attacked a queer who insulted him on his show?A few years ago Fox may have leaned toward the conservative side but now they seek the middle just like Oreilly.

Sean's "feelings" have nothing to do with it...

Sean's feelings are indeed an issue. He has bragged about his thick skin on a number of occasions, and swears that criticism doesn't bother him at all. But, when he goes off on one of his petulant little rants about how the "Freeps" aren't being nice to him, his bravado rings hollow. What else about his act isn't genuine?

So, you think I'm out of line for "bashing" Sean. But, here you are saying worse things about Savage than I have ever said about Sean. I thought Jim's point was that we needed every voice we could get on our side, and that individual style and personal tastes were subordinate to the importance of the cause.

I think the problem most people have with Savage is they are uncomfortable with hearing the truth, and they use terms like "crazy", "lunatic", and "manic-depressive" as mental insulation.

I find it ironic that I could hear him when I used to live in the CA Bay Area. Now that I have moved to America (AZ), I can't anymore.

I listen to it almost every day for at least an hour. The Republican leadership is attacked as cowardly on a regular basis, at times he'll ask what good it does to win if the leadership won't have courage, and he's had people from the Minute Man project on practically every day the last few weeks and even went down there on location to support their efforts. Tom Tancredo and Jerry Falwell are regular guests.

I don't recall the RNC attacking itself, nor do I remember it putting any emphasis at all on Minute Men - certainly not positive, and the establishment certainly does not gush over Falwell and Tancredo. To suggest he parrots RNC talking points is a lie - either a deliberate falsehood, or comments from individuals who have never listened to the show, which is no more honest.

I'll might as well say it, Savage '08!

What - the date for his commitment to the funny farm?

A Freudian analysis:

Michael Savage = id

Sean Hannity = ego

Rush Limbaugh = super-ego

Bill O'Reilly = a$$hole

They can all be enjoyable and informative (except, of course, O'Reilly).
