RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY - Michael Savage blasts Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh

RIGHT-WINGER BLASTS O'REILLY

RABID radio host Michael Savage is whining that he has been banned from the Fox News Channel after he dissed Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity.

The controversial conservative — who was fired by MSNBC in 2003 after referring to a caller to his show as "a sodomite" who should "get AIDS and die" — recently burned more bridges by calling O'Reilly a "Leper-Con who poses as a conservative" and Hannity "another Republican bootlicker who began as a Rush [Limbaugh] understudy" on his "Savage Nation" radio show.

Savage claims that he's been bumped off four scheduled appearances on Fox News Channel in the wake of his caustic comments.

"These two are now acting the way the mainstream media has been acting for decades, thinking they are the gatekeepers of who shall be heard in the conservative world," Savage sputtered in a statement.

"Both are jealous of my audience and are trying to silence me because they do not want the competition."

Savage boasted that the supposed "ban" has not affected sales of his new book, "Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder," which debuts at No. 6 on the New York Times best-seller list next week.

The gay-bashing broadcaster isn't the only publicity hound taking aim at O'Reilly, the undisputed king of cable news.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue, famed for firing off several press releases a day to media outlets, is ticked that O'Reilly once described him as a "witch-hunter" and Pope John Paul II as an "autocrat."

"My members are a little bit fed up with him," Donohue claims. "I guess he feels like if he is to the left of me, he'll appear more fair and balanced. We're on the same side philosophically on most issues. But I feel like, when someone crosses the line from criticism

Hmm.... I dunno. Savage was savagely attacking the President before the election, saying he wouldn't vote for him, telling others not to. Some suggested he was a liberal sleeper. Now he's attacking the talk-show competition. It's either a ratings attack, or a political attack, one.

I agree and disagree--I don't believe for a minute that Rush is "so washed up..." but I do believe that his best days are behind him. He has peaked and younger, hipper and sharper folks are nipping at his heels...

I cringe when Rush says he is "cutting edge" radio. He then proceeds to inform his listeners about some story that 98% of them were fully informed about 24-48 hours before via the internet...boring...

I DO love Rush's analysis--rare is the host who does it better.

Savage would destroy Hannity. Hannity's program is a soft bowl of mush where he discusses issues only when he doesn't feel like talking about fluff, garbage, and pablum. I can't listen to it.

Savage is usually kind to his guests and I believe he and Hannity could have a decent conversation, but Savage is very anti-Republican. That said, he thinks the Democrats are demons from Hell.

I gave up on that liberal butt kisser O'Reilly a long time ago. I don't see how he's any different from the traitorous RINO's we put up with. He just has a pompus platform to betray us from. He is not a conservative.

I've given Savage plenty of listening time. After about a year, my conclusion is that he is a self-absorbed, doom-and-gloom purveyor who appeals to only the most dour, pessimistic people.

Michael Savage, you get an 'F' for fraud.

How can you bear to listen to that overpaid fratboy regurgitating cliff-notes Conservatism?

Not that being a fratboy is a bad thing. Yo, Kappa Alpha Psi!

"No, that's called a hypocrite. People who make up those cutesy little terms like Leper-Con are called clinically insane."

I know, I just jumped on that reply so I could make my point about O'Reilly. Speaking of "cutesy little terms", I saw one in a tag line today that I'm sure you'll like even less than Leper-Con. "MINO"--get it "Majority In Name Only". What will they think of next.

I heard the same show. He offered no proof for his assertion, yet stated it as gospel truth nonetheless.

Savage's schtick is old, predictable, and he is a complete fraud.

I recently came across a VHS of Rush's "Rush to Excellence II" tour from 1990. The Rush of today is SOOO much better. Smarter, more clever, funnier, laser sharp and just downright RIGHT more often. I don't think he is washed up- I think he is aging very nicely.

You've really got it bad, don't you?

Absolutely false. Never in the eight years that I have listened to Michael Savage has he ever bashed gays.

100 Percent Agree! He is an acquired taste. Sometimes he snorts fire and other times smooth as whiskey.

Lately though, Michael has been bored with politics, the same old same old, and is concerned about the future of talk radio.

However, when he name calls Rush, although, Savage does give Rush great credit for his pioneer work and success in opening up the dam that held back AM Radio and giving birth to conservative voices on the air waves, while being sympathetic to Rush's current legal problems, Savage's name calling sort of belittles him and I do not like to hear it.

In my view, they are all great and the top three of Conservative Talk Radio, Rush, Savage and Sean. All are good in their own rights. However, Bill O'Reilly ought to cut the co-radio host, she's a dreadful bore and a drain of his and our time and is not included in my top 3 list.

I wish I could hear Mark Levine's Show. Gosh, he is some fire brand! Hugh Hewitt is good too.

Personally, I think Savage is the best thing going on the radio. Illegal aliens? he pounds it home all the time. Lt. Pantano? He's one of the few who has actually tried helping the Marine. I listen to Savage almost daily on my computer, TRN, and he really, "does it" for me.

As Savage says, just one man's humble opinion.

Michael Savage is an acquired taste. He's not always good. But when he is good he is great and blows the competition out of the water"""

My sentiments exactly. He can have be absolutely fascinating, brilliant and instructive - when he's talking about life in general, culture, literature. He really does have a lot to teach people about living -- he's got a lot of wisdom. And some of his comedy is first rate -- leaving Leno and Letterman and their stand-up "comic" guests in the dust. Did you hear his "news report" on the Janet Reno raid on Elian? Side-splitting. (And true)

But when he's just rambling, or on a self-promotional riff, I mentally tune him out (but don't actually turn his show off).

Savage is a brilliant guy, and brilliant guys are sometimes also a little unstable. But his "nuttiness" makes him willing so say taboo truths - - like the truth that O'Reilly is an empty suit.
