Strange words, indeed.
Glad to hear it. Get well, Laura!

This is really neat...they shoot the tumor with dye. And,then they follow the dye to the lymph nodes. The nodes that "light up" are removed & checked for cancer. Even if there's no cancer in those nodes they're removed anyway because IF there were to be cancer, the nodes that were lit would be the ones most likely to be effected. The ones where the would-be cancer would probably travel to.
Not in lymph nodes; that's good. No micro or macro metastisis is a relief. So they did a biopsy and not anything else.
There's no word yet on whether or how much chemo. But the surgery sounds like it was wildly successful.
That is good news indeed that there is no involvement of the lymph nodes.
Wonderful news!
And, if there is no "Laura Rule" on FR, IMHO, there should be one!

Just by being herself is what she does. Aside from her politital views and ultra smarts, she is friendly and unaffected. That is what draws people to her. She has earned all those 'wraps'!! I'm delighted by the good news!
"What is the sentinel lymph node?
A sentinel lymph node is the first lymph node into which a tumor drains, and is the first place cancer cells are most likely to spread. In some cases, there can be more than one sentinel node. In breast cancer, for instance, the sentinel node is usually located in the axillary nodes (the lymph nodes under the arm)."
