I agree. There are more important contests to which Zogby should devote his time:
Ginger.....or Mary Ann?
Zogby's been way wrong since the 2002 elections, but he really blew it in 2004.
In May, 2004 - before the conventions - his polls predicted that Kerry would win in November. Then at 5:00pm on Nov. 2, 2004 (election day) Zogby made the incredible prediction that Kerry would win with 311 electoral votes. He claimed to have based that prediction on 958 phone calls to probable voters across the U.S.
You see, Zogby busted his polling reputation wide open predicting a Kerry victory in 2004 and became the joke of the industry. Plus, it doesn't help that he and his brother, James Zogby has some interesting Arab connections.
The answer I think, comes from the fact that Zogby is not a non-partisan actor in all this. His brother, James Zogby is an outreach coordinator for Arab voters for the Democratic Party, and heads an Arab American advocacy group. John Zogby admits to being a Democrat, like his brother. And like his brother, he is also an advocate for the Arab side of the Middle East conflict.
Richard Zogby came out of the 2004 elections as giving worthless polls based on his deep desire to see Bush defeated, and his reputation 'got shot'. He's still trying to gloss it over, even 6 months later.
Dollars to donuts this was funded by an "operative" group to use as tool to leverage against Bush for various issues
I'd also bet if you dig deep into the polls methodology you might find some surprises Polls aren't cheap to conduct, someone is looking for political points to make.
...but it's Friday, so all the weekend polling has rolled off. Kerry always does better in the weekend polling. Wait until Monday, Bush will be behind again.
But .. Zogby still has SS wrong. It's way off from the FOX polls taken today.
Oh god. With this being an off election year, I sure don't miss hearing that kind of chitter chatter.
