Disconcerting. If we might suspend popular reality for just a moment, let's entertain the possibility that MA is an element of an early warning system.

Post important developments well ahead of the curve, sound the alarm, wake up the snoozers etc.

Acquire the bona fides to be a voice worth listening to, create a network of diverse individuals capable of researching and spreading information outside of the normal channels.

Use that network to disseminate
information that, for one reason or another, is not being reported.

Her poem is bothering me, I have no idea what it means but there are two terms in it that are quite troubling.

1. Hiroshimas

2. Midnight Matter Magicians

Canadians help Angola tame outbreak of Marburg virus
Researchers develop simple test for late-stage disease
By Terry Murray

WINNIPEG – Researchers from Canada's only level-4 containment lab brought comparatively low-tech tools to the international effort to control the outbreak of Marburg viral hemorrhagic fever in Angola.

They brought a mobile field lab that fits into 10 suitcases and can be run off a car battery to provide diagnostic support to clinicians and epidemiologists who converged on Uíge, the city in the northern part of the country that has been the focus of the outbreak.

That may be why the numbers are going up. They now have a simple test for late stage Marburg virus that actually works.

Personally, I am quite impressed by Mother Abigail. She was first on SARS, and first on Marburg. Her information was spot on, and seemed to be based on inside information.

I used to think she was an epidemiologist based in Hong Kong. I still think she's an epidemiologist. And I suspect she's with WHO or the CDC.

That's quite a poem she wrote. Read it a few times and the meaning is clear. Chilling.

I'm not inclined to see this as anything except nature getting mean, but that's some really scary stuff you linked to.

CIDRAP is a very credible program at the University of Minnesota. So what caused them to update the second link on May 3rd? And what was the change?

That is scary! I am a little freaked out right now because I just discovered we have two cases of Hantavirus here in New Mexico!I guess it is supposed to be a bad year for it , in this area anyway...probably another one we can thank Sandia or Los Alamos labs for...:-(

Comment on post 150 (US Embassy update).

I belive the 12/9 [Uige Case/Death] and 1/1 [Songo Case/Death] numbers are to be added to the 313/280 totals giving us 326/290. Otherwise the embassy update from yesterday makes no sense (310/279 + 13/10 does not equal 313/280).

The Minister of Health from hell seems determined to sweep any new Marburg cases under the rug. The Angolan 'gummint' must not like those US Embassy travel advisories.
