We need to make CRIMINAL INVASION a felony with a minimum one year jail and a $10,000 fine for first time invader.
We need to make aiding and abetting CRIMINAL INVADERS a felony with a minimum one year in jail with a $10,000 fine for each CRIMINAL abetted.

" These folks represent all that is good in the old fashioned idea what an immigrant should be."

Do people get a free pass on the law? The husband has admitted he did things wrong. Sorry, but these folks needs to get inline with the rest of the world's populace that wants to immigrate to the USA.

What other laws do these people want to simply ignore?

Let all who wish to come here apply through LEGAL channels.

They've done their best to adhere to the law and have been unmercifully victimzed by gubmint red tape.

God willing the situation will never be reversed for you and you have to slog past an army of bureaucrats with whom you do not share a common language, and without sufficient legal advice.

May the black jackets never knock on your door.

"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

I may be going out on a limb here, but I don't think Ralph was referring to consistency as in the consistent application of the law.

Or worse, have to get your drivers license renewed in California.

There seems to be alot of extraneous information in this article, designed to tug our heartstrings.

Well Suzie if you need your heartstrings tugged, you need only to meet Mr. Jung. I didn't just pick this article off of Drudge or some blog. I posted this article because I felt it summarized the situation better that I could.

My grandkids go to school with this fine young man. This is a family that does not not deserve this harassment.

"Middle and upper class hispanic immigrants who immigrate LEGALLY are put through HELL by INS. Just ask my former Colombian, Venezuelans and Panamanian cohorts at the bank I used to work at.

In short, if you're here to pick grapes or wash dishes, we'll look the other way. However, if you come here to start a business or work as a loan officer, we'll come after you."

The INS, State Dept, formerly democrat controlled congress and present day Rinos institutionalized the practice of giving preferential treatment to the least educated and poorest applicants, the most obvious example being the Hmong tribesman of Laos who generally contribute almost nothing while almost always going on welfare. They are at the top of the list to immigrate to the USA.

Illegal immigrants typically fit the profile the bureaucrats are looking for so they look the other way. Applicants from successful industrious cultures that have adopted Western values (like Korea, Japan, and the former Soviet bloc) are given the shaft. They would rather have the ones on welfare who are least likely to assimilate. Illegal immigrants who don't fit that profile like the Jungs are in heap-big-trouble. Don't be surprised if they are fined, imprisoned, deported and have whatever property they own confiscated while another bumpkin immigrant of welfare, illegal or otherwise, will be given the red carpet treatment. Welcome to the new America!

Gee, Terry Schaivo had to die because we had to follow the RULE OF LAW. If they were here illegaly then we should follow the RULE OF LAW. There are plenty of good people waiting in line to become American Citizens.

THis should be done more often, not less.

I'm equally sure that these two did *something* to attract ICE's attention. What were they involved in when they left South Korea?

ICE is focusing its enforcement efforts on illegal immigrants that fall into two broad categories: criminals and absconders. Lots of illegals have been convicted of violent crimes and then released back into America. Don't hold me to this number but I think there are about 175,000 of these. The remainder of the 465,000 people that ICE is trying to round up are absconders who are illegal immigrants that have skipped court dates which results in a deportation order or gone to court and been ordered to be deported but had failed to leave.

It sounds like this family falls into the absconder category. They missed some court dates back in 1996 which may or mayn't have been an honest mistake. It sounds like they fraudulently entered America on a student visa when they did not really intend on going to school.

I would have a lot more sympathy for them if during the last 9 years they had made some effort to rectify this situation. There are going to be some good people and some not so good people that get caught up as absconders but if court orders are not obeyed then we have chaos.

Sounds like they would be better off if they were hispanic.

This wouldn't have happened if they were part of the hispanic/protected class of illegal aliens.

Anyone who enters the U.S. illegally is a criminal, NO exceptions!
Deport all invaders, no matter where they originate.
So. Korea is not Hell, send them back.

Plain enough?

Yeah, they did "do something" Kreskin.

Mrs. Jung was a stay at home mom and a Christian school aid instead of being "employed" as they had stated on one damned form or another (as I understand it). I'll post other articles to verify if I can find them.

What were they involved in when they left South Korea?

I believe it was homesickness!

Have a cynical day.

Thanks for reading the whole article anyway.

How many of the 9/11 hijackers were here on student visas? 10 years of studying at the University of Toledo?

You would equate this gentle Christian family with 9/11 terrorists?

You are indeed a YO-YO.

They did. Has it occurred to you to wonder why only the mother is being shuffled from jail to jail?

They're getting abused on a technicality, IMHO.

You wouldn't recognize a CRIMINAL INVADER if he ran over you in a Mack truck, tough guy.

Go ahead, but take care, there are plenty out there already.

I don't think Ralph was referring to consistency as in the consistent application of the law.

consistency as in the consistent application of the law?

It's customary to put smiley faces or sarcasm indicators on statements like that.
