"The migrant moves and the gang follows," said Mr. Clifford, director of the agency's MS-13 National Gang Task Force. "If you follow the construction trade, this is where a lot of these immigrants go."

I live in a town of around 200 people. There are probably twice that many guns in town. Anyone who tries to launch a killing spree around here will be identified by their DNA because there won't be enough left to identify by sight.

LOL, I knew right when I pressed Post, that I picked a very poor choice of words. I agree, the last thing any rational person should do is depend on the government for protection from criminals. I admires the Founders approach to government. First and foremost they wanted self-government. Jefferson expressed why we have government at all, It is to secure our rights that we resort to government at all." Government is suppose to do collectively what we are allowed individually and no more. We have a right to protect our lives, property and loved ones from danger. The government is failing us in so many ways, one of the most by not securing the borders, thereby allowing criminal scum to cross our borders and terrorize our citizens.
what I was thinking after the Post was that if government has a proper role, most would agree it is the Courts and related functions. I must add, that aspect of government is inefficient and highly corrupt, like most other aspects of government.

The Minutemen were the first stirrings of a groundswell. There will be more, many more. Eventually, there will likely be widespread looting and murderous crimes against innocent citizens by these gangs. This will slowly be followed by tattooed gang-bangers mysteriously hanging from lampposts.
When the government starts realizing it is losing control of it's monopoly on force, then it will get serious - but only serious only about stopping the unsanctioned elimination of the bad guys by "vigilantes", who they think pose a greater threat to them than the gangs.
This is very unlikely to end either quietly or well unless somebody very powerful and influential in our government has the vision to act decisively and soon.
Sure, drug money fuels the gangs, but so can widespread crime. Legalizing drugs will not stop these criminals. They will only find another source for money, and there is plenty in America to loot - unlike their home countries.
