Dubya (and my local GOP leader) are compassionate social conservatives. They are pro-immigrant for the same reason they are pro-life.

Let's not have any of this nonsense of being pro-illegal immigrant and hiding behind the pro-immigrant label. I am married to an immigrant, and am strongly pro-immigrant, but I am also strongly anti-illegal immigrant. Additionally, I was an officer in one of the largest pro-life organizations in the country, and I don't see any connection between being pro-immigrant and pro-life. That is simply nonsense.

Tancredo called for DeLay to step down in the middle of the kerfluffle. It was shameless, opportunistic, and indicative of his lack of character.

I believe he has these qualities with regard to the immigration issue as well.

I read on FR that Tancredo and Delay were on the outs because of Tancredo's position on Illegal Immigration...As a result, it was stated that Delay told Tancredo he would never sit on any important committees...

Is Delay pushing any issues that are more important than getting a grip on the illegal invasion??? If not, I'll side with Tancredo...

Understand - but she did also say words to the effect that we need to seal our boarders to illegals - which is something the president has not been able to do.

Of course the b&tch is not really to the right on this issue, but she is throwing out some meat for people that may want to send a message to the Republicans on this issue.

Rush has been pointing this out for months, the entire illegal alien issue is sitting out there, waiting for the Dems to grab it - since the Reps won't. And there are a lot of Reps that will go single-issue on this one, as this thread clearly shows.

The Reps are playing with fire here, and they better think through their strategy carefully - or they're doomed.

I think that the Republican peasants are going to have to revolt and overthrow King George and the Prince Canon. I have run campaigns against Democrats but never against a Republican and in Cannons case I think he should be the number one target to show that it's time for a change.

I've been to his district, you should see the expensive houses that his rich business buddies have. They can afford $400K and $500K houses because they hire illegals for a few bucks an hour.

That's who Cannon is serving, and he could give a fat damn what any of the rest of us think. We're not the ones shoving campaign contributions at him.
