NOTE TO ALL: Sorry for this unusually late Dose. As mentioned on yesterday's thread, I went to Catalina Island today. That's why this thread is late. There are many, many photos of the presidential trip. I'll put up some of the best tonight, then do a complete retrospective on next Saturday's Dose.
A belated happy Mother's Day to all Dose mothers.

PHOTOS OF THE DAY: In their hearts, even presidents are just boys with toys. President Bush and Russian President Putin climb into a vintage 1956 Volga to drive to dinner within Putin's private residence compound in the Odinsovsky district outside Moscow Sunday. The Russian leader let GWB drive the sedan around a driveway before heading to dinner with their wives. "I'm having so much fun. We're going for another lap," Dubya told reporters.

I've been thinking that the US parties need symbols/motto's like the UK parties. Adds to the fun of it. What do you all think of this one?

Surrounded by some of the thousands of white crosses for American war dead, President Bush and Dutch Queen Beatrix arrive for the ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Europe from Nazi occupation. President Bush paid homage Sunday to the "terrible price" paid by World War II soldiers who never came home from their fight against tyranny.

The US parties do have symbols; the Democrat symbol is a Donkey, the Republican symbol is an Elephant.

A Georgian woman with her dog passes by the posters with face of U.S. President George W. Bush announcing his upcoming visit to Georgia, in downtown Tbilisi, Sunday, May 8, 2005. Bush, who arrives Monday evening, will spend less than 24 hours in the ancient city .
ALL CLEAR! As mentioned, there are literally hundreds of photos of this trip, many of which are touching and/or interesting. I'll try to capture most of the best for a retrospective next weekend.

Thank you so much. Can't wait to see all the pictures! I love the pictures of GWB and Putin in the car. How funny!
Hope you had a lovely day on Catalina. Thanks for your hard work.
