As a bonus, your copy will now include the President's speech in Georgia!

Please freepmail me with your address and format preference -- VHS or DVD.

That might be the one. But we would've had to drive to my uncle's house. This was, I think, about late 50's-early 60's, because we moved from there about '63 or so. We lived near the Marine base, Camp Pendelton(sp?), in Oceanside, CA.

Unless it's possible that they did away with the car ferry, and kept a pedestrian ferry going instead, after we left? I can't remember if someone we know told us the car ferry was gone in latter years, or if they kept it. Also, I might've read it somewhere on the 'net!

One of my San Diego-ites has told me the "car ferry" has been done away with. But .. I have taken the people ferry and it's a lovely trip across the bay.

In the harbor, they also have dinner cruises, as well as a steamboat cruise.

Of course, now we have the awesome USS Ronald Reagan gracing our harbor.

Oh, that's right about the USS Ronald Reagan! I remember that Michael Reagan escorted Nancy Reagan there to see it come in!

As for the car ferry to Coronado being done away with, that would make sense now. I was sad to hear that, but I'm really glad they have the ferry for people to ride on, at least! Someone was saying on the same thread, that the traffic got so heavy, that they had to put the bridge up. I can see now why it wasn't practical to have the car ferry go across. It would've been too much for that ferry system to handle the way the traffic going over it nowadays!
