If Reid was sure he had the votes and public support he would be playing obstructionist.

Since he is trying to make a deal, it says he doesn't have the votes.

There are likely some Democrats in Red States that are being told by Democrats to stop playing obstructionist.

If Reid does have the votes and is trying this tactic the polls must show he does not have the voters.

A Party that has the votes in the Senate but not the voters will soon have neither.

The fact they are offering a deal shows they are losing.

I could give so many examples from history where the army with the upper hand is sweet talked and offered goodwill by the defender, until such time as the danger to the defender passes and the once dominant force is slaughtered. It should be obvious that Reid is desperately offering stuff in an effort to survive until such time as they can block some more nominees. The republicans should just change the damn rule and get on with it. IF Reid really were offering "goodwill" on nominees, then he'd be agreeing not to filibuster any nominees. Period.

Reid can shove that "olive branch" up his -- dingy harry...

Force them to filibuster, or Nuke them.

No compromise --- compromise with a leftist is self destructive and non productive.

Tell these senators: NO DEALS. The Rats will ALWAYS screw us. Unless we screw ourselves first.

Either the Republican Senators nuke 'em or the voters will nuke the Republicans.

Fine, let's vote on Griffith tomorrow, and then jam the rest of them down their throats.

If Janice Brown got 75% of the vote in liberal California to retain her position on the bench, how far out of the mainstream could she be?

I agree. We ought to get all the judges with with a rule change.

However...what do you bet Reid just scared away the weakest of the Republican-lite Senators with this stunt.

They are always looking for an excuse to back off from the nuke option and he just gave it to them.

No, our side won. The winners get to pick the judges. That's why you try to win.

Insert that olive branch up your Clymer, Harry.

I got a call from the RNC yesterday, begging for money for the judge fight. I told her, NO, NO and HELL NO!

Not a dime until they USE the power.

Now that thought really pi$$es me off.

You are probably right.

I can hear "them" now.......

"See, they want to work with us...they really do! Come on, we can trust them!"

Time to go cook some dinner and quit thinking about this...
