Acutally, that might be closer to the truth than we know. Those stories of what they did to Terri and with Terri as she was dying made me think of a pagan ritual or a witches' coven. Almost like she was in fact a sacrifice.
Gathering about 30 people around her bedside to watch her die? Some kind of water ritual? No telling what else.
Thanks... After reading that it reflected what I have been feeling for a long time. I feel so much better now. LOL
no assumption needed. the medical reports that say that she did not have one is all i need, plus that good thing called a science book that shows what parts of the brain do what.
1992-93 huh? believe it or not, people change over time. the most recent medical reports done on her show what happened to her brain.
i am not saying that this is not a tragedy. i am saying that to assume anything without an investigation is. that is what i said about the memo leak about Bush, and until the final reports come out, that is what i am saying about Terri.
ps-no caps is my thing. i only cap names and words for emphasis.
Oh. That. hehe! Thanks.
:-)
Your welcome. Glad I could help. :)
That is too funny!
I'm sorwy I pinged.
:-)
All these death groups are giving Florida a bad name and it's hard to top the bad rep we already had.
Florida is the starvation state now.
Checked my pings before I left work, some guy behind me says "What's with the horse's nose?"
I said "Long story."
:D
Not to put too fine a point on it, but this isn't a blog.
"Long story."haha! :)

There was testimony from a Terri friend (Diane Meyer) about Terri comments on the situation of Karen Ann Quinlan, where the friend recollected Terri saying that as long as there is life there is hope, and opposing Karen being killed (Karen was at one point on a respirator).

Michael wouldn't let Terri get off "the feeding tube." This was in keeping with his anti-rehab stance, which he adopted in 1993 following the payment of malpractice lawsuit award money.

4. I asked why Terri was not up in a chair, too. I learned, as
part of my training, that there was a family dispute and that the
husband, as guardian, wanted no rehabilitation for Terry. This
surprised me, as I did not think a guardian could go against a
doctor's orders like that, but I was assured that a guardian could
and that this guardian had gone against Terri's doctor's orders.
....
6. I remember seeing Michael Schiavo only once the entire
time I worked at Sabal Palms, but we were all aware that Terri
was not to be given any kind of rehabilitative help, per his
instructions. Once, I wanted to put a cloth in Tern's hand to
keep her hand from closing in on itself, but I was not permitted
to do this, as Michael Schiavo considered that to be a form of
rehabilitation.

Reference for "part of her brain that responds to the electrical currents that the brain receives as pain, is... gone"?
When did this "part of her brain" become "gone"?

Do you think Michael had a "refusal to let go" of his guardianship of Terri?

The ACLU supported Michael.

Do you think the ACLU "exploited this family for their own political gain"?
To correct some data in the last Hentoff paragraph:
$400,000 windfall for Michael's lawyer George Felos, with more loot on the way given a Terri death-by-starvation
