Let's Withhold Donations From The NRSC And The RNC Until They Move On This Filibuster Fiasco!

Posted on 05/11/2005 6:01:36 AM PDT by conservativecorner

The National Republican Senatorial Committee deserves not a single cent for the job our senators are doing, and the RNC is so quiet that the Sprint Man thinks no one is there. My money will go the National Republican Congressional Committee because they represent what the party is about, and they aren't afraid to move on a contriversial issue.

Here's the NRCC'S homepage.

I have done just that. The only Republican who gets my money until the judges move is Ken Blackwell.

Know what you mean about "too blank early!"
Stayed up to the wee-smalls last night with HP "tech support" - talking to a dumb bunny who didn't know the difference between a "jpeg" and the application used to open it!

Next time - Dell!

Too late. I'm already withholding donations for several reasons of which Ken Mehlman has been informed:

1. Hagel, Voinovich and Chafee voting "NO" on the Bolton nomination:
2. Pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage Jo Ann Davidson named co-chair of the RNC;
3. RINO McCain claiming he will vote "NO" on the nuclear option;
4. Supercreep Chris Shays' public statement that DeLay should step down;
5. Connecticut's approval of de facto gay marriage.

Now I can add Mexican Social Security to the list. I'm giving serious consideration to renouncing my membership in the Republican Party since I cannot morally support many of their recent actions (or inactions) and, also, since they are ineffective, lazy, self-possessed and cowardly. I will support individuals with whom I agree, all of which are currently Republicans, but not a cent for the RNC to distribute to those who hold my ideals in contempt.

The last request I received I wrote a letter directly to Ken Mehlman telling him that I would no longer contribute to any Republican national committee because my contribution might go to RINO's like Specter (sp), Chaffee, McCain and others. I will donate directly to conservative candidates that reflect my views. Until the Republicans a) secure the borders, b) approve judges, and c) control spending, they won't see another dollar of my money.

Direct to conservatives or funneled through the Club for Growth.

I get solicited by mail from the RNC and about every conservative PAC.

Since they have furnished me a prepaid evelope for my donation, I use it to mail back their solicitation with a bold

"SECURE OUR BORDER!!"

I already do. I got a survey from some republican group and they wanted to know if I was in favor of them increasing their budget (by getting a donation from me) to help fight off moveon.org. I checked the No box and told them to be real conservatives and to live within their means. Also, I wrote I wouldn't send them any money till they approved the judges and secured the borders.

Done it. I've stopped giving to any GOP / RNC / PAC's. If THEY can't put the pressure on the sitting wigs in Congress and get the message through that apparently we can't, nor has our hard work ensured, then, they all should be dumped. Act like the majority, AND, do what you were elected to do, or face losing the whole ball of wax in 2006. This time, YOUR JOB IS ON THE LINE. Act or be unemployed. That simple. You all in if the shoe were on the other foot, the Democrats WOULD NOT have let 6 months of grass of a majority grow under their feet on this. As far as I'm concerned, this Senate is diddling around WASTING time on purpose, so they can excuse their lack of action to concentrate on their Senate campaigns. This has got to stop. It's time for US to use the NUCLEAR OPTION on them.

Interestingly enough, We got two fundraising calls yesterday (the first since the elections)...

...and that's precisely what I told them.

I even called up the Finance Director at the National GOP office and asked him to remove my name from their lists because a majority party acting like a minority party didn't need my contributions.

Right! They can save us all money and just become the minority party for FREE.

Problem is, many corporative contributors and pro-business organizations - some of which have explicitly stated that they don't want their legislative priorities disrupted by a filibuster fight - can easily make up the difference in contributions, and calculate (IMO correctly) that social conservative voters will end up supporting Republicans in 2006/8.

Hey, no problem. There's no elections coming up that would be impacted, right?

I have now sent back a couple of dozen fundraising solicitations with the following written across them in bold red sharpie pen...

"Not one $ 'til Bush's judges are seated and the borders are secure"

If we all do this we'll get their attention. The only thing they really care about is their flow of cash.

I understand your point, but my blood is to the boiling point, and I'm not going to take it anymore. We are far from DU in every way, and we will maintain decorum despite being treated like nonexistent people after an election cycle. Bottom line is let the jackasses know we aren't going to just lay down for this debacle in the senate.

Last month I notified the GOP, no $ until we get the judges and sealing up the borders.

Let's go easy on the Senate Republicans. In normal Senate Tradition they are going slow. I hear the plan is to float trial balloons for another 23,584 times just so they can attain the total of 50,000 necessary to move forward.

Same here. I told them they would receive no further support until they started acting like a majority party.
