It's a threat if it's carrying a suitcase nuke or bios.

Yes, and if it was, please tell me how those people would be any safer standing in the streets?

Lautenberg complaining that a fat woman couldn't run. There has to be a better way, he says.

Paging Trent Lott.... time to strike a deal.

The concept of 'restricted air space' is rediculous. It can only cause problems and will never stop a genuine attack. It's just phoney government crap to make the sheep think something is being done. It just gives the government even more power over none threats while doing absolutely NOTHING to reduce genuine threats. Would a real terrorist refrain from attacking because the air space is restricted? If our masters won't guard the borders, everything else is a joke.

Before Lautenberg agreed to the slimy deal to help the Democrats out of their Torricelli scandal, Lautenberg, a military vet, was one of the better Democrats on national security. He was of minimal help in saving Fort Dix and McGuire AFB. Credit for that goes to Cong. Jim Saxton, R-Mount Holly.

He's complaining about "the plan," that fat people can't evacuate quickly, that they were told that they had two minutes to get out and get away, but that nobody told them why.

Geez! I think I wouldn't care whether it was a big jet, a small plane, a missile incoming or a bomb found. I'd be happy to wait and hear that news after I was a safe distance away.

"A small cessna is no more of a threat than a U-Haul."

Living in OKC, I would strongly disagree with you.

They already are banned

They banned flights from violating air space in the vicinity of WH. They should ban flights of this nature in the area meaning that he wouldn't have been permitted to take off to start with. Of course that wouldn't prevent someone from venturing there from far off but it would require a much larger screwup or serious intention

Lack of coordination? What's to coordinate? During an evac of the buildings there's no time to brief everybody about *why* they are getting out. It is really only the getting out part that matters.

And is Lautenberg previously on record as demanding electric carts for fat people during evacuations? Or is that just the best he could do on the spur of the moment? The Dems need to work on their evacuation talking points.

"The woman said there needs to be better coordination . . . "

Right. Ok, lady. Next time this happens the Capitol police will have a "sidewalk seminar" and explain carefully and fully that they believe that there is an unidentified plane possibly carrying explosives headed for the Capitol or White House or somewhere nearby.

And there will be grief counselors to help you cope with it. And someone from CNN to itnerview you in depth...and...and...ooops!...splat!

Better just run next time, lady, and ask questions later.

If its a suitcase nuke, it doesnt matter if you're in the building or on the street running. If its biological or chemical, I would think its much better to remain inside.

You can't ever simulate this kind of test.

Good point. When people know its a drill, they won't get off the phone or they take their sweet time getting down the stairs.

A good, stiff scare with what could be the real thing gets those people moving! (And gets the ladies to think about wearing someting other than those spiky, pointy heels in the office.)
