Lucas is derivative, absolutely - but if Raiders of the Lost Ark is a ripoff of anything, it's a rip-off of the explorer pulps Lucas read as a child.
Vendyl Jones is a crackpot. And a very self-important one.
(sound of ticking clock and BS detector beep) Ping for next month
3:16 And it shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be done any more.
3:17 At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.
3:18 In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers.
Great article.
Since he is also an archeologist (someone seeking to unearth things) does that make him a 'Noahide and Seeker'?
Speaking of INDIANA JONES!!!
[rimshot!]
BTDT. ;')
Hmmm, I thought David Rohl was the closest thing to a real-life Indiana Jones. He looks like Indy, anyway.
Vendyl's current web sites are:
http://www.vendyljones.org.il/
http://bnainoah.net/
with many questions answered in the on-line FAQ and in "The Researcher" newsletters.
I've known Vendyl for many years. He's absolutely sincere, and has some legitimate, very interesting archaeological finds (see, for example, the October 1989 NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC).
Daniel 12:5-7
5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
Oy.
That ought to make people forget about the ark; after all, that scene even dwarfs the Exodus:
Jeremiah 16:14-15
14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be said, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
Jeremiah 16:15 But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
Matthew 24:14 And this gospel [good news] of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
And that union has already begun, with the massive ingress of Jews to Israel -- from the postwar Exodus, bringing the number to about a half million in 1948, to a significant fraction of world Jewry today. More in freemail.
I thought he looked familiar when he wears that hat... ;')
The "seven laws of Noah"?
A couple of years ago I ran across his web site. He had sattelite photos of the Jerusalem area where the shadows and canyons spell the name of God and other indicators of the hand of the creator in Hebrew letters. Within the last couple of months a scriptural archeology program and another teacher of Hebrew roots of Christianity have also found and discussed the letters. Seems there are scriptural references that God has written his mane on his land.
That is seriously indicating that the followers of the pedophile false prophet of pagan gods are so far off base.
THANKS.
Interesting.
We shall see.
What? You're not impressed by someone who, in 2005, can predict the 1967, Six Day War? What if he predicts that Boston will win last year's World Series?
Bump to read on the bus ride home
