Hmmm.
Exactly.
And we seem totally helpless to stop it. I will be eternally puzzled by that gross perversion of a simple ideal.
It defies all reason, logig and historical precedent.
Where it will lead is fascinating, no matter what the outcome.
I think most thinking people realize this. It doesn't mean that Newsweek didn't pour kerosene over the already smoldering fire. (And with them, it's always smoldering.)
Muslim protests planned in advance? (Security official says Newsweek article served as trigger)
Bump to read later
While Newsweek messed up, its mistake doesn't warrant this response. There had been similar reports before that didn't see such a reaction. Considering the way so many Muslims treat each other and everyone else, this selective outrage is ridiculous. This is just an attempt to throw the entire Western world into another multicultural guilt trip.
I'm not giving Newsweak a pass just because our enemies are lunatics.
If we want to play down the traitorous acts of Newsweak by making the main focus the crazy Jihadists, we do so at our own risk. And, is it really news that the lunatic Jihadists would react this way?
Personally, I think the riots were always a minor part of this story. The fact that our MSM is so willing to undercut our war efforts, put more Americans and American troops at risk, and work so feverishly to tarnish our image at a time of war with their false reporting should be the main focus of this story. To ignore this just because our enemies are crazies is giving Newsweak a pass.
Similar to the claim that Sharon's visit to the Temple Mount was the cause of the Arab violence.
A claim repeated even today by the MSM.
