"But the time will come, where we will have a chance to make our voices heard."
I agree. And heck, I was going to "punish" the moderates (selectively, if possible) anyway. For ex., vote in Blackwell.
But do NOT be quick to think of this as a loss. Remember the Golden Bridge.
Ironically, the guy who brought this to my attention was "Major Bob" Bevalaqua!

There has been a realignment going on for some time now. There used to be a spectrum right to left in both parties. The Democrats no longer have any rightish senators. The Republicans will have winnowed out the leftish senators over the next 3 cycles.
After all of the winnowing is done, the natural order of the Senate will still be about 55-45 in the Republican's favor. I hate to say it but patience may still be needed.

I'm not sure this is over. Senator Frist spoke on the floor of the Senate and repeated his demand of an up or down vote. Clearly the Dems plan to let Owens gain cloture tomorrow. Frist should bring up Saud next and force their hand. I have contributed heavily to the Republican party, enough to be invited to DC to meet the President. I have informed the GOP my wallet is closed until this is resolved in our favor!

"Why don't moderates ever land on the side of conservatism?"
Well there was Zell Miller. We have also been able to pick off Lieberman on some of the foreign policy votes. The difference is that when a Dem moderate votes with us the Democrats retaliate against them to be sure they don't do it again. In contrast Johnny Mac and the rest of the RINO traitors know that Frist won't do a darn thing to them or their pet projects. If they knew that there would be a price to pay the moderates would be less willing to sell us out at every single chance they get.

Sample Letter I just e-mailed to Lindsey. By the way, isn't that a girl's name. Dear Senator Graham,
I was one of those working as hard as I could for your election to the Senate. At the time you seemed to stand for the conservative principles, that I, and most other voters in South Carolina believe in. None more important than the principle of putting judges on the bench who will apply the law and not make policy. The judiciary is after all, the place where the radical left enacts its policy, even after losing the political debate. Your decision to side with the liberal left on this important issue is a profound disappointment, to those of us who believed in your candidacy.
I even bit my tongue, as you put forth a Social Security reform proposal that could have come from Senator Kennedy's office, but now that you helped the Democratic Party to twice undermine the most vital pieces of the President's domestic agenda, I feel compelled to voice my concerns.
I hope that you will reconsider your left turns and once again represent those voters in South Carolina that actually voted for you.

There is another Chinese proverb to consider, "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." GWB undoubtedly remembers the deal his father made with the RATs for statesman-like purposes. GHWB backed off his "read my lips" promise for a quid pro quo on spending restraint. The RATs ignored their end of the bargain and even used GHWB's "cave in" as a campaign slogan against him. It was devistating and gave us x42. And that is just one example. Sorry, but the definition of insanity is repeating the same mistake over and over and expecting a different outcome.
