The Deep Throat Dog Wag
Purveyors of Truth | 6/2/05

What remarkable timing for the revealing of Deep Throat! Just as Newsweek was taking tons of heat for publishing a false Koran flushing story, Deep Throat is revealed removing all attention from Newsweek. It just so happens that Newsweek is also owned by the Washington Post.

It certainly seems odd that now, after the onset of dementia, Mark Felt decided to reveal himself, yet he was still adamant in his denials in 1999. Perhaps Bob Woodward had a little chat with his opportunistic daughter. If Mark doesn't do any TV interviews himself, I'll be suspicious that this "coming clean" isn't entirely of his own making.

Glad to see this article! Who cares who Deep Throat was, really? This Deep Throat Watergate Felt Woodward story is a ruse to cover up more important news going on.

No need to posit some kind of deep conspiracy to explain why this bunch of retread losers is once again taking themselves for yet another victory lap and patting themselves on the back. They are nothing but a bunch of self-serving attention junkies, looking for another fix.

The only good thing is that now that the "mystery" is finally revealed, perhaps this story can finally die a long overdue death.

I get the impression that the liberal fanatics want to cast themselves as defenders of democracy, rather than the ankle-biting defenders of the enemies of America.

Just in time, too.

Sorry, but this is just plain silly. No matter when the news about Deep Throat had come out, there would have been something else important happening in the news that conspiracy theorists could claim was being distracted from. The Newsweek story is a particularly weak example, since that happened way back on May 9th and the hullabaloo was pretty much spent on that one.

anything to keep wrongdoing of GOP or Conservatives on Front Page. Buchanan was great on Olberman last night. He hit the nail on the head w/all the stuff the FBI had on MLK and Kennedy while the Post didn't find that newsworthy, they found the bugging and copying of DNC docs very newsworthy.

As Savage says, beware the govt., media complex

I tend to agree with this, although I don't think there was much hullabaloo about it in the first place. The MSM pretty much tried to present it as a non-issue. The only folks outraged by the Newsweek flap were those of us on the right.

"...his opportunistic daughter...."

funny, I mistook her for jane fonda when I first saw her beaming face at the front door of the crib......the resemblance is chilling.....perhaps the persona will, too.

Two events CAN BE coincidental.

The Newsweek thing wasn't going to pick up much more gravel than it already did.

If we look deeper at this a more intriguing picture starts to develop. Hillary Rodham was a player in the Watergate investigation. Could it be possible that the left is trying to resurrect the air of Republican corruption so that they can get their girl in the White House? I can almost see the political ads showing a grainy news reel shot of Hillary at the Watergate Hearings and cutting to her assertions of a vast right wing conspiracy. Hold on to your hats folks, it could happen and I will be having a good laugh at the attempt. Liberals can be soooo amusing! They just don't get the fact that the Truth always rises to the top and common sense can't be beat!
