Saying the Feds are full of sh*t in this case , would be over simplification. The Fed's are just as aware as the rest of us are, that if the KKK was spotted owls it would be number one on the endangered species list. Yes number one and being a baby eating predator has never kept any other species from it's rightful place on that list.

The KKK serves the guvment so well with it's reputation as a despised and feared boogie man, to distract our attention away from the real demons that genuinely threaten us,whom the government either out of fear or because of complicity therein, wishes to ignore- and unlike Teri Schiavo, will be forever kept on life support by the Feds, despite it's obvious permanent vegitative state.

I'm sure they have a good number of members, but that getting together for a secret "WE hate everybody but us meeting" doesn't equate to "active".

I've seen mega churches that aren't active.

These people are going to be soooo embarrassed when this turns out to be a bunch of frat boys from UNC-CH or Duke. Even more embarrassed when it turns out to be the Tawana Brawley scenario. Incredibly embarrassed when it turns out to be half a dozen jack-leg rednecks out joyriding.

Or maybe not. These local news types tend to be too stupid to be embarrassed. They'll just run a story about how it could have been the Klan and how lucky we are that it wasn't.
