Once again people mistaking human intelligence as omnipotence.
As soon as these Universities have the ability to count every grain of sand on the beach they can have the power to take a life.

Rev. Richard McBrien, theology professor at the University of Notre Dame, argued in support of removing Terri Schiavo's feeding tube. "This is not a question of euthanasia," he told Bill O'Reilly on FOX News, directly contradicting the Vatican. He may be a theology professor at Notre Dame, but he doesn't sound like a Christian.
Harvey:
"[The Pope] talked very carefully and said 'in principle,' food and water is ordinary treatment... But 'in principle,' which means there are conditions and times when it can be omitted."Harvey has sneakily changed the meaning of "principle," in order to make it seem that the Pope agrees with him.
Black's Law Dictionary --- The definition of Principle
- A fundamental truth or doctrine, as of law
- a comprehensive rule or doctrine which furnishes a basis or origin for others;
- a settled rule of action procedure, or legal determination

Wonderful piece! My son went to Georgetown and used to joke about the "Kennedy School of Ethics." Sadly, the Kennedys have set the standard for moral theology in American Catholicism.

The death of Terri Schiavo will have a lasting detrimental effect not only on our country but on the world.
The after effects are already starting.
I've have taken a lot of heat from several FReepers already for daring to disagree with an assesssment of VDH but I urge you all to read the following and let us all know how you see things now.
It is the blood of Terri Schiavo that we will never be able to wash from our hands.

In 1999, Nelson and Cranford published their arguments for removing Wendland's feeding tube in the Journal of Contemporary Health Law and Policy, which is sponsored by the Catholic University of America law school. They describe Wendland as "minimally conscious"since they could not reasonably label him vegetativeand argue that for such individuals who cannot communicate, "Their biographical and personal life is over."This man used an electronic wheelchair to get around and replied to questions.
These people are far more evil than the radical islamics.

Link this on your big thread? This explains how other victims were murdered. Robert Wendland didn't want to die. I think he cried when they came for him.
CALL CONGRESS TOLL FREE: -1-877-762-8762
Request investigations of Florida's culture of death and ALSO for a FEDERAL BAN on starvation and dehydration (unless there is a written declaration).
That's not the only reason they killed Terri. They also took advantage of her inability to speak beyond infantile speech. Even when she tried to say she wanted to live, they covered that up and pulled the feeding tube five minutes later.

Two other links: www.priests4life (Father Pavone met Terri on several occasions and was with her right before she died) and www.judgegreer.com (one of the inside stories).

I totally agree! It's difficult to realize there are people who actually think like those in the article. They are literally promoting the killing of innocent people. The scary part is they are in postions of power and influence over others.
I wish Pope Benedict would speak out loudly against these so called bio-ethics experts. They appear to NOT know the meaning of the word ethics.

" Harvey has sneakily changed the meaning of "principle," in order to make it seem that the Pope agrees with him. "
Thank you for catching the outrageous BS, that Harvey is promoting. These people don't seem to have any regard for the truth.
