Somewhere there is an old picture of a Sunday afternoon horserace. It seems that after church meetings, the members would unhitch the buggy/carriage horses and race them. LOL!

Yea, that poor horse. I hope they retire him after this year. He just has too many health problems and its hard to find a race for him.

I believe that that is one of the ways horse racing got started. Also that is how steeplechase racing got started. Running from church steeple to church steeple.

I thought post was 5:30 ET. I caught the very end of ESPN's racing broadcast and thought I heard them say that.

Yes. It takes heart to win the Belmont and Afleet Alex obviously has that.
