Illegal U.S. immigrants outnumber legals

Washington, DC, Jun. 14 (UPI) -- The number of illegal migrants arriving in the United States has exceeded the number of new legal immigrants, a Pew Hispanic Center report finds. In recent years some 700,000 unauthorized migrants have arrived annually, compared with about 610,000 legal immigrants. "Unauthorized Migrants: Numbers and Characteristics" was prepared by Jeffrey Passel, a veteran demographer and senior research associate at the center. The report estimates the number of people living in families in which the head of the household or the spouse is an illegal alien at 13.9 million as of March 2004, including 4.7 million children. The report also said at least 6.3 million unauthorized workers were employed as of March 2004, comprising 4.3 percent of the civilian labor force. Overall, illegal migrants are less educated than other sectors of the population, with 49 percent not having completed high school, compared with 9 percent of the native-born and 25 percent of legal immigrants.

Why should we even have borders, or countries. Just let everyone roam the world freely. It's good for business.

Time to build a wall. (well, it's BEEN time to build a wall).

Once the wall is up, and the next survey (2010) rolls around, we document every illegal, and require they get their citizenship within the next 3 or so years, or else be deported.

Just my simple solution.

Precisely the plan - One World Order.

Yup the ruling class oligarchy is revealing itself, Kennedy, Bush, Rockefeller and other wealthy families are suverting the constitution and entrenching themselves into positions of perminate power. While simutaniously underminding the US middle class. Clear as day for anyone willing to have a look. US oligarchy is in no way threatened by millions of illegals, not at all since illegals already know how to live in tyranny, there are in fact a viewed as a good thing by the ruling elites.

Just curious, but you don't have any illegals doing the "construction" on your profile page, do you? Hehe.

I heard a local radio talk show host posit a theory about why the US ISN'T working harder to make a stronger border along south and north...

Remember, I HEARD this as a theory, I didn't make it up!!

He said that he thinks that the governments of US, Canada, and Mexico have talked secretly about eventually making our three countries ONE huge "union", similar to Europe...

The reason, he opined, that they would want to do that is because of China...he said that China is getting stronger, and because of trade, is working closely with other countries, that are not "real friendly", like Cuba, Venezuela, and others...

The thinking is that if these 3 countries, became one "north American nation", they would only have to worry about the borders along the oceans, not between the countries, when it comes to defense against enemies, such as China, Russia, N. Korea, etc...

IOW, we would also have use of their militaries (such that they are) to help enforce the shorelines, and we would also have use of both countries "fly-over" space for any kind of defense system and air force...

I guess he was saying that since China its self has like 2.5 million in their military, it would take the cooperation of our neighbors to help defend/attack that country, if ever necessary...

Just thought I would pass that theory along, as to why Bush hasn't been more hardline with Mexico about the borders!

I don't trust anything coming out of the Pew Hispanic Center. I suspect their numbers for illegals is drastically understated.

"I suspect their numbers for illegals is drastically understated."

That wouldn't surprise me. If the area where I live is any indication, the numbers are a lot larger than anybody is reporting.

"...we document every illegal, and require they get their citizenship within the next 3 or so years, or else be deported."

One too many steps. Only 1) and 3) are needed. Find'em---then ship'em out.

yeah but i was trying to be somewhat realistic. if we just up and deported every illegal, there would be lots of second-hand legals (born here, legality in question) who would take to the streets. riots would ensue.

if only we could do it your way...that would be ideal.

Someone sent this to me via email the other day. I cleaned it up for the purposes of posting here.

We could substitute other euphemisms that are used in the media for the corporate buzzwords here, and play the same game!

Bravo Sierra Bingo - How to stay awake at meetings

1. Before or during your next meeting, seminar, personnel and budget committee, or conference call, prepare yourself by drawing a square 5" x 5" on a piece of paper. Divide the square into columns, five across and five down. That should give you 25 one-inch blocks of space.

2. Write one of the following words/phrases in each space:

result-driven
at the end of the day
out of the loop
24/7
infrastructure
core competencies
revisit
bottom line
best practice
strategic fit
fast track
think outside the box
win-win
proactive
value-added
benchmark
110%
client focused
paradigm
game plan
leverage
moving forward
enhanced
give it your best shot
wow them

3. Check off the appropriate box when you hear one of the above words/phrases.

4. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout: "Bravo Sierra!"
