Burned texts left at Islamic Center
Blacksburg police have not determined if the Qurans were burned as a hate crime.

BLACKSBURG - Members of the Islamic Center of Blacksburg were stunned when they arrived at the building for prayers Saturday afternoon.
Outside the building, a plastic shopping bag filled with burned copies of the Quran sat in front of the door. Blacksburg police say they do not have any leads on who left the burned religious books, but they are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.
On Tuesday afternoon, as a group of men gathered at the center, 20-year-old Idris Adjerid said he was disgusted about what happened to the sacred books.

The koran is not a "holy" book...it is a manual for murder, torture, enslavement and repression of women. Allah is a pig if he had anything to do with writing this piece of trash.
John Harrison, a law professor at the University of Virginia, said defining an act as a hate crime is not as easy as people outside law enforcement might imagine.
For example, if a person is assaulted, it is a crime. If that crime is motivated by race, religion or ethnic origin it becomes a hate crime, which carries a greater penalty.

I wouldn't desecrate someone's holy book, because I was brought up better than that. Having said that, I can't help wondering if this is just another case of them "crying wolf" to push their agenda as an aggrieved group.
Seems to me burning the queeran is a form of protest, and a good one at that!
The Koran burned with "gay" flag & copies of Roe v. Wade

Tonight those things detestable to God Almighty were set aflame. Children and youth tore copies of Roe v. Wade and added them to the fire. A "gay" flag was burned. Then Pastor Flip held up a Koran and said, "This book causes young men and women to become suicide bombers, blow people up and call it good, or crash airplanes into buildings…and the lying imams of this land say it’s not a violent book." He said, "We have three choices: To be killed by the Muslims, to kill them, or to convert them." He indicated our preference is for the latter. He had husbands and fathers come forward to burn the Koran. Several Muslims, who had aligned themselves with the rabble rousers who are present each evening, held pro-Islam signs. One snapped picture after picture of Flip, then spoke into a cell phone for the rest of the evening. A fight broke out among two men on the opposing side (pro-aborts, sodomites, Muslims, heathen, antinomians, etc. fight themselves). They were arrested as the rally ended.

What crime? "Hate Littering"?
You sir, are 100% correct! If I buy it, then it's mine. I have the right to burn it, wipe my islam with it, or anything else I feel justified in doing to it. This is an insult to the the first amendment's freedom of speech! What day here in America do we want to have a crokan burning day, as a freedom of expression day?
