RUSH: In audio sound bite #12 which we recently played for you, Senator Durbin was talking about you people that drive hummers. Well, actually he said that in audio sound bite #13. In audio sound bite 12 he proposed over the next 20 years to reduce our dependence on foreign oil by 40%, and he said, "Hey, we can do it. It may not even be as great a challenge as the Manhattan Project, when President Roosevelt said [sic], 'Develop an atomic bomb that will end World War II.'" I wonder if some president today, if we didn't have a nuclear bomb and some president said, "Let's make one," would Dick Durbin be in there supporting him? And, by the way, if we can have the Manhattan Project and get credit for it to create the nuclear bomb, Senator Durbin, why can't we have the Manhattan Project, too, to really get going on nuclear energy in this country? If you want fuel efficiency, and you want to reduce dependency on foreign oil, hey, pal, let's go nuclear!
"Oh, FDR doing nuclear is okay, but we can't do nuclear now. We can do nuclear bombs in the Manhattan Project. We can't do nuclear power. Oh, no! Because Jane Fonda made a move once called The China Syndrome, and that's that."
(sigh) You know, everybody is talking about Senator Durbin -- everybody, Michael Duffy, all these people -- worried about the temperature at G'itmo, air conditioners being turned on and then turned off and the prisoners so beside themselves they're laying in the fetal position; they're pulling their hair out! I will tell you that no matter what. No matter what the temperature gets to at G'itmo, it's definitely cooler than it was at the Branch Davidian compound in Waco when the Clinton administration burned it to the ground. Come to think of it, I don't remember Durbin saying anything about that when it happened. He may have. I just don't remember it, and I think they blasted music for weeks when they tried to get the Branch Davidians to come out of that compound, did they not? And I thought they brought in big lights to shine on the compound during the night, all intended to keep them from sleeping. Didn't they do that at Waco? Where was Dick Durbin when this domestic torture was going on? These were US citizens the Clinton administration was targeting, including women and children and babies -- and they eventually burned them out with tanks, the Waco invasion. I'm telling you, Mr. Snerdley, it was much hotter there than it ever is at G'itmo, wouldn't you say?
Its for the ChildrenTM
He was on target today. I didn't get to listen to all of his show but I can catch it on Rush 24/7 later...
Yup!
Not bad, wagglebee.
Excellent presentation!
Amen to Rush.
i never did understand why the citizens of this country allowed the clintons to get by with this.
Amen to Rush.
I didn't hear this. Thanks for posting. What a perspective!
What about Bubba's and Teddy's treatment of women? That sounds like torture, in my opinion.
Did Durbin ever stress over the heat generated at the WTC on 9/11 ??
Hillary Clinton's rescue party.
A few of the children murdered by the democrats.
No but a liberal Democrat (I don't know who) said the Gitmo prisoners had fewer choices then those who were forced to jump from the Twin Towers after they were slammed by hijacked jets. This happened in the last few days - maybe someone can supply the name and place of said liberal Democrat.
Sadly, you are correct.
If DK was waving a queeran instead of a Bible, maybe JR would have excercised some restraint....
Tubby Kennedy killed more people driving home from a barbecue in the summer of 1969 than have died at Gitmo!
