Durbin tried to rewrite his quote last night.
Senate Rocord [Page: S6716] ^ | 6-16-05 | Dick Durbin

Posted on 06/17/2005 6:15:18 AM PDT by OXENinFLA

(6-16) Mr. DURBIN. What I have said is, if you were asked, without being told where this might have occurred, as I said here directly in the RECORD, you might conclude that it was done by one of those repressive regimes because that was the kind of heavy-handed tactic they used, the kind of inhumane treatment in which they engaged. You would be surprised to learn that according to the FBI, it was something that occurred at Guantanamo in a facility under the control of the United States of America.

WRONG!!

Anyone see the word "MIGHT" in his original quote?

(6-14) Durbin: "If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners."

You don't have the intergrity to answer, on the other thread, whether you ever criticized Clinton for bombing the chemical factory, severely polluting the Danube, creating an environmental disaster of epic proportion, and killing civilians.

FReepers, I have challenged our airheaded leftist friend to show me one post where she criticized Clinton's bombing of the Serbs. She will not do it. That is because she cannot do it. MurryMom will only criticize a commander in chief for bombing when he is a Republican.

For you newbies who may not yet know, MurryMom has been totally discredited on this forum. It is of no value to try to have a discussion with her. I see her mouth moving but all I hear is blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.

...the Pentagon has acknowledged five instances of abuse or irreverent handling of the Koran, the holy book of Muslims.

I believe those five are only the mishandling by American personnel. In addition, there were ten incidents of the Koran being mishandled by detainees themselves. So I think the outrage over Americans "mishandling" is a bit overstated by the media.

"At least 10 prisoners have died at Gitmo and in Iraq and Afghanistan as a result of torture, murder, and harsh treatment by U.S. troops."

If your point is true, so what? The facts that these terrorist died have no relevance as compared to how many lives may have been saved by their death if we even got a shred of info from them. In Texas we execute more criminals than that in one year and I'm proud of that fact. These terrorist are animals so these libs need to quit talking as if they have human aspects. If someone feels a need to investigate something then it should be PETA and not Amnesty International.

People are puzzled by the outbursts of Durbin and Dean etc. They wonder why the do it. The answer is simple. This is what the core of the Democrat party really thinks. On occasion they slip and actually say what they really think. I wonder what the hell they say to each other behind closed doors in private.

That is what she said. I could not believe it. I said, "Well, I hope he apologizes."

She said "I think he will be on the news this evening."

I almost laughed.

I said "Well, I just hope he makes an apology. Thank you. Bye."

You forget yada yada yada yada yada. LOL! And meanwhile, there are still BEHEADINGS taking place. It is soooooo horrifying to realize that some people are complaining about AIR CONDITIONING and comfort of the detainees while BEHEADINGS are going on. Sheeeeeeesh already. By the way, during the summer here in Fresno, it is often in the hundreds!!!

"The Durbin Award"

A great idea! May we assume John F'ing sKerry will be grandfathered in?

If we did that, we'd have to bring in Genghis Khan too...I suppose.

"The MSM is a matrix... "

Makes me think of the final scene when the dupes started exploding. Who's next? It's heartening to know the dems are wired to self-destruct when they stray off course.

http://www.humanrightsfirst.org/us_law/etn/statements/abu-yr-042605.htm

As per your request the above link documents at least 108 admitted atrocities by U.S. forces at Guantanamo, Afghanistan, and in Iraq, all documented by the U.S. DoD. The actual number is undoubtedly higher in view of Rumsfeld's noted lack of honesty and the passage of time. Other posts in this thread seem to wish that even greater numbers were slaughtered by BushCo.

I think she is kept around for dual purposes - entertainment and a reminder of how the liberal mind fails to put the dots together.
