After the 2004 election, there were widespread reports of serious voting problems in Ohio. The Democratic National Committee's Voting Rights Institute made a commitment to investigate these reports and ascertain exactly what happened on November 2 in Ohio.
An exhaustive five-month investigation by the VRI's research and investigative team identified grave problems in the administration of Ohio's voting system. More than 1 in 4 voters in Ohio faced problems at the polls, including illegal requests for identification, long lines, poorly trained election officials, and more. There were also dramatic disparities in voting conditions among different races; African Americans waited nearly three times as long on average as whites to vote.
Most important, the VRI's comprehensive investigation resulted in concrete recommendations that will help protect every American's right to vote and to have that vote counted. These recommendations cover voting equipment, training for poll workers, uniform standards, and much more.
Get the facts about exactly what happened in Ohio in 2004, and learn how Democrats are fighting to protect our rights.

Sore loser ping!
"I just need $10 to prove election fraud."
I bet the MSM gives this fantasy WAY too much coverage - as usual.
HAHAHAHHAHA! The irony, upon, ironies...is as I understand it...these were largely democrat controlled voting districts.
What a bunch of nutjobs!
Meanwhile in Washington...Democrats make fabricate several hundred votes to put in their parties candidate for governor.
I'll bet that their recommendations didn't have anything like making sure that the people were actually citizens or who they said they were or legally able to vote. I'll also bet that it had no recommendation that the voter rolls be purged of all deceased voters.
What? Well surely they went to Washington! Didn't they? Didn't they?
Expect anything from the radical left. Especially between now and 2008.
Remarks like this are idiotic.
Could it be that A-A's wait longer because they live in cities and/or precincts that are terribly mis-managed?
If so, is it because of racism? Or because of entitlement programs that put incompetents in responsible positions?
Who`d have thunk.
In other words...they couldn't really find anything wrong so they put together a partisan, feel good, mushy, PC worded report to delude themselves into thinking highly of the nothing that they acomplished.

Why haven't the Republicans issued, to wide press coverage, a precis of all the fraud, intimidation, and rule breaking that occurred on the Dem. side during the last election?
MoveOn and the rest will continue to cheat, lie, and steal elections until they are publically called to task.
Too bad that black Democrats are too illiterate and disorganized to run a decent election in the ghetto precincts. Do they want white Republicans to come run those boxes for them? I think not...
This is just stupid. I live in Ohio. No long lines in my area and IT WAS RAINING! I actually heard from two people as I was doing some post-voting shopping that they left their lines because it was raining.
It took me exactly 20 minutes to vote.
On election night, I logged on to www.screwtherats.com, (super secret Rove website) and switched all the Larouche votes to Bush.....
Of course, they fail to tell the reader most of these "occurences" happened in counties were election boards are totally controlled by DEMOCRATS.
Funny how they blame Republicans for a lack of competence among Democrat officials.
Is Keith Olbermann still on? If he is, I'll bet he goes balls-to-the-wall on this. At least I hope so.
Many of the recommendations from the download are aimed at disallowing voter identification such as photo ID, etc. Imagine that!! The rats don't want to have people identify themselves.
Car bombs, hellish hot weather, beheadings, torture, and threats of retaliation from jihadis didn't seem to faze the Iraqi voters.
Compare that to what these demorat babies are whining about.
Mehlman must have heard you.
Right after the Dems lose more seats in 2006 and Iraq elects its first President... impeachment will drown out ALL other news coverage.
Many of these people don;t want that type of liberty in the US...they just want power and control and themselves would become horrific tyrants f they thought for a moment they could get away with it.
LINK to the Republican responce.
we need a post of that picture -- "Oh no, not this ____ again."
from the executive summary:
"The purpose of this investigation was not to challenge or question the results of the election in any way."
I had to wait in line a really long time, in the rain, and I had to show ID. Everyone in line with me was white, and so were all the poll workers. I don't live in one of the "battleground" states, so I guess it doesn't matter.
So, When does this "Crack Team" start investigating in Washington? </Sarc>
"...just to try and undermine public confidence in our elections and the winner of the 2004 presidential election, since we can't figure out a way to win elections fair and square ourselves..."
As soon as the put down the crack pipe that was driving force behind this "investigation."
Illegal requests? If the law prohibits that, then the law is an ass.
Sometimes all I can say is wow. But at other times--like now--the only thing I can say is "that's f***ing insane."
(Denny Crane: "Sometimes you can only look for answers from God and failing that... and Fox News".)
While there is no reliable evidence of actual fraud in the use of these machines in Ohio in 2004, our expert advises that DRE (touchscreen) machines are not sufficiently safeguarded against fraud and are less usable for the broad population of voters than earlier simpler technologies; and that existing standards and practices for certification are insufficient to ensure the security requirements of DRE (touchscreen)
I. The statistical study of precinct-level data does not suggest the occurrence of widespread fraud that systematically misallocated votes from Kerry to Bush.
The tendency to vote for Kerry in 2004 was the same as the tendency to vote for the Democratic candidate for governor in 2002 (Hagan). That the pattern of voting for Kerry is so similar to the pattern of voting for the Democratic candidate for governor in 2002 is, in the opinion of the teams political science experts, strong evidence against the claim that widespread fraud systematically misallocated votes from Kerry to Bush.
Kerrys support across precincts also increased with the support for Eric Fingerhut, the Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, and decreased with the support for Issue 1 (ballot initiative opposing same-sex marriage) and increased with the proportion of African American votes. Again this is the pattern that would be expected and is not consistent with claims of widespread fraud that misallocated votes from Kerry to Bush.
Tried can't seem to post the picture..I guess it has to be in some sort of specific format.
It took 8 hours counting the bus trip from New York to Philadelphia to Ohio. Voting at every stop! What a long day!
It was a ruse to damage Blackwell .. it didn't work.
You are correct!
Both counties went for Kerry.
Cleveland is a VERY blue area.
Actually, they just photocopied and issued Mary Frances Berry's report on the 2000 Florida election.
She didn't find anything either, but that never stopped her from screaming that she did.
