Clintons Join Billy Graham for Final Revival - (BARF ALERT!)
FOX NEWS.COM ^ | JUNE 25, 2005 | A/P

Posted on 06/25/2005 8:37:08 PM PDT by CHARLITE

As his final American revival meeting continued Saturday, a fragile Billy Graham (search) was met onstage by former President Clinton, who honored the evangelist, calling him "a man I love."

Clinton spoke briefly before Graham's sermon and recalled how the man known as America's pastor had refused to preach before a segregated audience in Arkansas decades ago when that state was in a bitter fight over school desegregation.

"I was just a little boy and I'll never forget it," said Clinton, who was joined by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (search). "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."

Graham called the Clintons "wonderful friends" and "a great couple," quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."

Graham, 86, then launched into a short sermon that was interupted by applause five times. Organizers estimated 80,000 people had come to the crusade at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens — about 20,000 more than the opening night Friday. The rally ends Sunday.

The evangelist is suffering from fluid on the brain, prostate cancer and Parkinson's disease. He uses the walker due to a pelvic fracture and is largely confined to his home in Montreat, N.C. He had said previously that the rally "will be the last in America, I'm sure."

You know, Barry Goldwater went liberal in the final years of his life and so did George Wallace. I wonder if getting ancient and close to the doorway to the next world does that to you? I sure hope not. Pat Robertson's not that way. Neither is Pat Boone.

Where have you been for the last 40 years? This man is respected for a very good reason. Don't you think that evil would have appeared before this one quip?

And what have you done for the last 40 years?

This is one minister that has shown by his life that he is the real thing. You may not agree with his beliefs but he is sincere and doing all in his power to work for His Lord. While many here just try and destroy that reputation.

Let me see - now which is doing more for God - the one spreading his word to millions or the one trying to destroy the man's reputation?

genuine Christians would do well to ignore this old idiot.

And listen to your view of Christianity that says a man reaching millions of people with God's grace and love over a 50 years period is Satan?

Don't think so.

Funny how they've recently "found" religion. I'm thinking Bill thinks he might get lucky there and Hilliary is just whoring for votes...

Yes, he overheard his Mother and her pals at the local bar in Hot Springs, Ar. talking about it.

I've always noticed so many professed Christians just love the part about rebuking others, chastising, destroying their efforts.

But, funny thing, I have never heard from them any emphasis on God's love, His grace, the fact that He gave His Son to die for our sins that we may believe Jesus is the Son of God, repent of our sins, be baptised for the remission of those sins and rise to walk through life with Jesus.

Just how do you show your listerners the love of Jesus for us? Or do you just show them their sins only?

Goodness farmer, I would never think of Billy Graham as an evil man.........no way, no time. (Could you have possibly meant Billy Clinton?). Very poor choice of a quip saying what he did.......but not shallow or evil.

Sure. Let Hillary run the country, if those are the fools you prefer.

Why do you think the Lord used "wolf in sheep's clothing" as a metaphor for many "leaders" we endure as Christians?

Hmm??

And listen to your view of Christianity that says a man reaching millions of people with God's grace and love over a 50 years period is Satan?

Kindly point to the fruits of Billy Graham's ministry? Are families more, or less, committed to each other, since the advent of Billy? Is divorce more, or less common? Is entertainment more, or less, God-centered? Are our politicians more, or less, righteous? Are we in the courts, suing each other, more or less?

Which Jesus has Billy been preaching? The kind that would smile and joke with a Hillary and Bill that advocate the murder of children in the womb?

Billy Graham is a full-fledged viper, a whited sepulcher, a wolfe in sheep's clothing--as he manifestly proved this morning.

WORTH REPEATING:

"It's sad because he's such a legend," St. Louis said. "When you think of Billy Graham, you think of a lot of things a Christian should be."...and somehow it's NOT Hillary and Billary.

Two blasphemies in one sentence. Joke or not, I am convinced that Billy Graham has lost his mind to senility, so I won't take him seriously. However, giving such a boost to Hillary Clinton's candidacy in 2008 has me convinced that the Graham family/organization has benefitted financially from the Clintons in some way. I have lost all respect for the Graham Ministries.

Here's a story from the 3-6-98 Rock Mountain News:

`I THINK THE LADIES JUST GO WILD OVER HIM' GRAHAM SAYS HE FORGIVES CLINTON

Saying that President Clinton has a personality that makes women ``go wild,'' the Rev. Billy Graham said Thursday he would forgive the president if he were found to have had sex with a former White House intern and told her to lie about it.
Graham, in an interview for NBC's Today show, said: ``I forgive him . . . because I know the frailty of human nature, and especially a strong vigorous young man like he is. . . . He has such a tremendous personality ...

<< What a shameful, sad end to a ministry that started with such fire and promise, then veered into deepening and damaging compromise.

Graham's friendship with the world is a cautionary tale. >>

That does it! I KNEW that there was yet another reason for why I put "BARF ALERT" on this post!

...lordy, lordy......Was Billy Graham already losing a portion of his marbles back in 1998?.......or has he always been this mushy on moral and ethical matters?

I recall that he was "caught on tape" making serious anti-semitic remarks during a private meeting with Richard Nixon.........so possibly Billy G. is a .......can we say "panderer" to the politically high and mighty?

I can think of several and Billy Graham is NOT one of them. Yes, I AM familiar with the "wolf in sheeps clothing" that the Lord used but at the risk of being sued, I would name a few that fit that perfectly. *~*

Oh, Billy. You bring out two of the toughest things about being a Christian. Forgiveness and loving your enemy are not easy things to do. Im not ready to love my enemy but considering your age I find it east to forgive you for what you said about the Clintoons.

I guess Rev Graham has to show 'love' to everyone but wish he hadn't overdone it so much!
